I empower business & nonprofit leaders to build their confidence & skills in public speaking to make a bigger impact & bigger income.

Sweaty palms, butterflies, deer in headlights ... sound familiar? If you're afraid of speaking in public or in front of a camera and it's holding back you or your business from advancing, you can learn to overcome your fear! Or maybe you feel comfortable delivering presentations, but you need to cut down on your "ums" and "likes" and boil down your elevator pitch. I'm Jessica Chang and I'm an Emmy

Ever been handed a script and told to “make it sound natural”? 😅

Maybe it was written by your team, a communications director… or AI.

I get it … it’s tough to sound “natural” and authentic when delivering someone else’s words!

I coached a client through this recently before a Chamber of Commerce awards ceremony.

The script was polished & professional, but when she practiced it, something felt flat.

There was no *her* in it.

So I asked:

“What moment from your experience with the Chamber’s leadership program truly changed you?”

That’s when she lit up! 🔥

She shared how the program sparked a deeper passion for serving her community — and I told her to add that into the speech in her own words.

That small personal moment changed everything.

When she spoke at the event, the audience didn’t just hear information. They felt her heart. 💜

Here’s the process we used:

✨ Start with the feeling.
Ask yourself: What do I want my audience to feel?

✨ Find your moments.
Even in a prepared script, there are opportunities to bring YOUR personality, warmth and energy into the delivery.

✨ Let the emotion lead.
Your tone, facial expressions, pauses and body language communicate more than the words themselves.

And whenever possible … tell a personal story.

👉🏽 Here’s what I want you to remember:

The most memorable speakers don’t just deliver speeches.

They create connection. ✨

The words may belong to the page.
But the delivery belongs to you. 🎤

💡You don’t need to say more to *say more.*

Executive presence on Zoom isn’t about having the perfect script.

It’s about what people see before you speak.

Try this during your next virtual meeting:

👁️ Look into the camera (not the screen)
📐 Frame yourself with intention in the center of the screen (no more than 3 fingers width of space above your head)

That’s it.

👉🏽 When your eye contact, posture, and presence are dialed in, you’re already signaling:

⚡️“I’m prepared. I’m confident. I’m paying attention.”

No extra words required.

📌 Save this for your next Zoom or Teams meeting!

How do you look in your “Zoom box?”

Try these tips and send me a screenshot! 👍🏽

“What did they think of me and my message?”

I’ll admit it—that thought still crosses my mind after I give a speech.

Even yesterday, after emceeing the luncheon for 200 incredible women … after the energy, the connection, and the meaningful conversations—I still found myself replaying moments on the drive home:

🤔 “I wish I had emphasized that point more.”

🤔 “They didn’t laugh at that part like I thought they would.”

🤔 “Maybe I should’ve said it differently.”

Let me normalize this for each of you reading this:

That post-event critique doesn’t mean you weren’t great.

It means you’re INVESTED IN YOUR GROWTH.⚡️

The most experienced speakers I know—including myself—don’t walk off stage thinking, “Nailed it. Nothing to improve.”

We walk off stage thinking, “What can I refine for next time?”

But here’s the shift that matters 👇

Instead of letting that reflection chip away at your confidence … use it to sharpen your leadership.

Here’s how to do that constructively:

✨ Get specific, not emotional:
Trade “That wasn’t good” for “Next time, I’ll slow down that section.”

✨ Choose just 1–2 refinements:
You don’t need an overhaul—you need intentional evolution.

✨ Acknowledge what worked:
The energy in that room, the engagement, the conversations sparked ... That’s what sticks with the audience.

✨ Close the mental tab
Reflect, capture the lesson … and then let it go.

Because while you’re replaying your delivery…
Your audience is remembering HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.

And beyond my own reflections, I’m deeply grateful—

💛 Grateful to have learned from the incredible doctors .inc & .drtina who shared their expertise so generously.

💛 Grateful to for creating space for such an important conversation.

💛 And grateful for my friends who showed up for their own health & education and supported me.

Yesterday was about creating a space where women felt seen, heard, and supported in midlife—and it was an honor to be part of that.

🌟 It’s all about progress over perfection.
Impact over overthinking.

✨“There’s no crown for being busy. The crown is for those who get results.”

Mic drop. 🎤

That moment—shared by the dynamic and brilliant Network CEO & Founder Sandra Yancey—stopped me in my tracks.

She flew in from Dallas this week to pour into our chapter here in Modesto, and I found myself surrounded by some of the most impactful, generous, and genuinely supportive women in business.

And in that room, I felt something I don’t take lightly:

Energized… AND at peace.

And that combination matters more to me than ever right now.

I’m in a season where I no longer say yes to everything that looks like an opportunity or because I feel OBLIGATED to go.

💫 I’m saying YES to what feels like ALIGNMENT, which is why this event was so special.

Not only was I immersed in a room full of supportive and successful women who truly want to see each other win… I had the opportunity to sit next to, connect 1:1 with, and learn directly from Sandra Yancey.

And here's one of the biggest reminders I walked away with:

⚡️Multitasking is not a badge of honor.

We’ve been conditioned to wear “busy” like it’s proof that we’re doing enough… achieving enough… being enough.

But to what end?

I see so many women, like you and me, running around frazzled going from a work meeting to their kid's soccer practice to a networking event ... and on and on ... with barely a moment to breathe or consider WHAT SHE WANTS.

In this season, I’m redefining what success actually looks like for me.

More peace.
More presence.
More intention.

Which means being deeply thoughtful about where I spend my time, energy, and attention.

Because here’s what I want you to remember:

✨ Not every room deserves your energy.
✨ Not every opportunity deserves your yes.
✨ And not every investment will move you forward in the way you actually need.

But the right ones will.

They won’t just inspire you… they’ll ground you.

They won’t just fill your calendar… they’ll move you forward.

So if you’ve been caught in the cycle of “busy,” consider this your reminder:

You don’t need to do more.
👉🏽You need to CHOOSE BETTER.

Protect your peace.
Prioritize what produces results.
And give yourself full permission to say no to what doesn’t align.

Because when you’re in the right room, you don’t just learn…

You remember WHO YOU'RE BECOMING. ✨

I’d love to hear from you—what’s one way you're being more intentional and aligned with your time and energy? ⬇️

✨There’s something powerful about a room full of high-achieving women CHOOSING to SLOW DOWN and RECEIVE.

I had the honor of emceeing and facilitating the Mental Health for the Modern Woman luncheon earlier this week featuring a brilliant and compassionate keynote speaker, Dr. Brighid Gannon - founder of , who flew to Turlock all the way from the East Coast to meet with us!

Hosting the Q&A felt especially meaningful — it took me back to my days hosting an interview show in San Diego and creating space for the honest, sometimes vulnerable questions that don’t always get spoken out loud. It reminded me how much I love holding conversations that matter. 💜

Brighid’s insights on anxiety, the epidemic of loneliness, the external demands, and the invisible load so many women carry were both validating and grounding.

What stayed with me most was the openness — ambitious, capable women choosing presence over performance and community over comparison.

So grateful to have been part of an event that reminded us that ambition and emotional well-being can coexist. 💫

Huge thanks to the , EMC Health Foundation & for providing this opportunity for us all to connect and have this important conversation.

✨Last week, I gave one of the most important presentations I deliver all year.

Not on a big stage.
Not to executives.
Not recorded.

It was to a group of first graders. 🥰

Every year, I go into my son’s classroom to share about Chinese New Year — the stories, the traditions, the zodiac animals (this year is the Year of the Horse 🐎), the meaning behind the red envelopes 🧧.

And every single year, it feels sacred.

I do it because I want my son - and his friends - to learn about our Chinese culture, to feel proud of it.

But the true reason is even deeper than that.

I do it to honor my mom. 💜

She was a professor of Chinese language and culture — and a joyful storyteller who loved sharing it with everyone.

When I was little, she came to my school and did the same for me. I remember how proud I felt.

We lost her a few years ago. Now, when I stand in that classroom, I’m not just teaching.

I’m carrying her legacy forward.
I’m helping my son remember his PoPo.
I’m making sure the traditions don’t stop with her.

That’s the power of using your voice.

So let me ask you:

⚡️What matters so much to you that you CAN’T STAY QUIET?
⚡️What message is BIGGER THAN YOUR FEAR?
⚡️How are you using your voice to LEAVE A LEGACY?

Legacy isn’t just what we build.
It’s what we pass on.

❌ Don’t just speak to perform.
❌ Don’t just speak to impress.
🌟 Speak to preserve.
🌟 Speak to honor.
🌟 Speak to carry something forward.

Your voice is more powerful than you think.

And someone — maybe even a first grader sitting cross-legged on a classroom carpet — is waiting to hear it. 💛

If you’ve ever hit record on a video and suddenly forgotten how to “be yourself” … this is for you. 🎥

This was one of the key lessons during my On-Camera Confidence presentation to the incredible realtors at yesterday.

Many thanks to all of them for being so attentive, engaged, and fully present — the kind of audience I dream of!! 😍

We talked about what really builds trust on video:
❌ not copying the real estate influencers you see on social media…
✅ but leaning into your own brand superpowers.

Your personality.
Your perspective.
Your way of connecting.✨

Trust & authenticity build when you focus on what resonates with your audience instead of trying to replicate someone else’s style.

Whether you’re a real estate professional or other kind of business owner, remember this:

✨Your clients DON’T need a polished influencer version of you — they need YOU!

🎤 If your storytelling tends to ramble, it’s not because you’re bad at stories — it’s because you don’t have a structure.💡

You KNOW storytelling matters in presentations and media interviews…

but without intention, stories go off on tangents, you add extra details, and then you’re stuck — “Wait, what was my point again?” 🤔

That’s why I’m sharing signature S.T.O.R.Y. Method with you ⬇️

S — Setting
Where are we? Who’s involved? Set the scene.

T — Trouble
What went wrong or got complicated?

O — Ouch (or Own the Emotion)
What did it feel like in that moment?

R — Realization
What clicked? What changed?

Y — You learned
The insight or takeaway your audience should remember.

✨ This framework helps you stay focused, human, and compelling—without losing your place or over-explaining.

📌 Save this before your next presentation or interview.

Confidence isn’t built in one video or one speech—it’s built by showing up consistently. 🎤✨

That was one of my key takeaways from my On-Camera Confidence presentation to the incredible group of real estate professionals with earlier this week. A sincere thank you to CVAR, , , , , & for the invitation, the warm welcome, and the engaging comments and questions!

What I’ve realized over the 9 years I’ve been speaking on video for social media as a business owner is this:

❇️ Some days it feels like no one is watching (cue crickets 🦗)…

❇️ And other days, you’re celebrating all the views and comments and trying to keep up with the replies! 🎊

So here’s what I want you to remember: ⚡️CONSISTENCY BUILDS TRUST. ⚡

Just like that friend who shows up for you in the good times and the messy ones—people start to trust you simply because you’re there to help them, time and time again.

Whether you’re recording videos or speaking in front of a live audience, the more people see you, the more they remember you.💡 And when the time comes to hire someone or collaborate, you’re already top of mind.

And when it comes to being consistent, you’re not going to be “perfect” each and every time. I’ve learned firsthand that chasing “polish” usually breeds more frustration than confidence.

👉🏽 So aim for being the real and imperfect YOU!

Your message is more important to your audience than having the perfect outfit on, or having the perfect lighting.

YOU have a valuable perspective and expertise they need to hear—exactly as you are. 😊

Tell me … what’s one way you can - or already do - show up consistently for your people?

01/09/2026

You may not realize this, but even when you’re talking about or introducing yourself, IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU!

My 6-year-old son had to learn this public speaking lesson this week. 😉

👉🏽 Watch this video to hear what happened, my advice to help him build confidence before his “Star Student of the Week” presentation (no, I didn’t invoice him for my consultation 😜), and find out how he did!

And be sure to pay attention because this advice applies to anyone at any age!

Let me know how you can use this tip in your life!

😳 “The idea of delivering speeches and presentations haunted me.”

If you’re a leader, executive, or business owner who knows you need to put yourself out there more, that sentence probably lands close to home.

Because even when you know your message matters, you can still be afraid:
😬Afraid of freezing or losing your place
🗯️Afraid your delivery won’t reflect your credibility
🫣Afraid of representing your organization or business without the clarity and polish it deserves

That’s exactly where AgSafe Executive Director Theresa Kiehn started.

She didn’t lack expertise.
She lacked a framework—and the confidence that comes from knowing HOW to deliver her message effectively.

By choosing not to take it on alone and to work together, everything shifted. ✨

With proven speech-writing formulas, delivery strategies, and supportive coaching, Theresa transformed her fear into confidence—and content into impact.⚡️

In her words:

“This was a game-changer.”

If speaking feels like something you have to do—but not something you enjoy or feel confident in YET—this is your invitation.
