▫️ What was your path to becoming a coach?
"I took a weight training class as an elective in high school, fell in love, and never looked back! Weight training catapulted me into figure competitions for several years. During that time I was a professional athlete with Optimum Nutrition. I found CrossFit in 2011 and that changed everything. I made the switch & started coaching right away. Since then I have owned and operated 2 CrossFit affiliates."
▫️ What times will you be coaching?
"I am a full-time coach, so you’ll be seeing me a lot! Mostly at noon & evening classes on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I’ll be in earlier on Tuesdays and Fridays for the 6 and/or 9 AM’s. You can even catch me at the front desk from time to time."
▫️ What makes Invictus special?
"The community has always been WHY I chose this profession, and Invictus entrances that. I feel like Invictus is a place where anyone could come to reach their goals and feel incredibly welcomed."
▫️ What are your hobbies outside of the gym?
"When I’m not working out, I’m chilling at home with my three cats or riding my motorcycle. I just moved to San Diego from Palm Springs and I absolutely cannot wait for summer to spend my free time at the beach!"

Wodapalooza Competition Recap 👏🌴
▫️ Austin competed as an individual in the Adaptive Neuro division! He put on a show and would go on to win his second WZA title in a row🥇 Besides winning the competition the highlight of the weekend for Austin came when he PR'd his bench press with a 215# lift.
▫️ Jasmine, Veronica, & Ashley competed as a team of three in the intermediate division this past weekend at WZA! In the final workout of the weekend, they won their heat and would take 2nd overall in that workout. Another highlight for this team happened in the max lifting event where their entire team either matched or set a new PR mark.

With Ketone-IQ they reduced the cost by 2/3rds and significantly improved the taste. Along with HVMN, Michael is an avid triathlete and holds a 2:42 personal record for the marathon.

Consistency is a Muscle 💪
"In CrossFit methodology, there is a core tenet of “mechanics – consistency – intensity”, as it relates to ex*****on of movement. First one must perform a movement soundly, then be able to perform it consistently well, before adding intensity to its ex*****on. But consistency is not just for movement; It is for life. And it is something you can train, just like squats and your VO2 max. I thought that talent would bring me success or happiness when I was young. I have learned that while talent is helpful, it is consistency that has the strongest correlation to success."

What's a Realistic # of PRs to Expect in a Year 🏋️
"If you’re seeing PRs here and there and you’ve been lifting for a few years now, that’s 100% normal. Progress is never linear (outside of everyone’s first 6-9 months). It is always cyclical. Newer athletes will always see progress faster than advanced athletes. I always find it’s the “in the middle” athlete that sometimes can get into a funk. As they have improved and all the newbie gains have already come, they sometimes struggle to progress. I would focus more on training consistently, eating right, recovering correctly, and the PRs will follow for sure"
