My yoga work/practice space after a weekend of Roll Model Method training! I’m diving deep into practice & study & experience of everything I’ve learned and will be bringing Roll Model classes to the schedule this Spring!!!
If you thought the myofascial release & connective tissue focused work we were doing before is great (& it is!) then wait for whole classes dedicated to just this type of therapeutic/recovery/pain-reducing movement!!!

I am super excited to talk about the Breath & Pranayama workshop happening on Sunday, Feb 27th! Please don't think about this as a basic stillness and meditation practice. This workshop has gone through an entire evolution just in the planning of it. This workshop is going to be a dynamic, full body exploration of the breath!
We are going to spend three hours creating space within the body for the breath to flow; we'll do myofascial and connective tissue-specific stretches and movements! We will do pelvic floor exercises and diaphragmatic breathwork to experience this connected breathing network! We will learn how the breath can be an emissary reporting back to us what is going on in the body & mind! We will move in ways that connect the body to the breath! And we will learn new ways to engage with the breath through Pranayama!
Pranayama is a Yogic Breath practice; prana meaning breath and yama meaning restraint or control. Pranayama allows us varied ways to engage the breath, to train our lung capacity, & to influence the patterns within our minds & the pace of our thoughts.

Last class This is the space where I literally bloomed as an instructor. This studio created community for me and those who rolled out their mat week after week even in a pandemic!

Want some support in an upright seat? Have a 10ft strap (or multiple smaller straps you can link together)? Come to this amazing, supportive shape
-Place the strap around your neck
-Cross the strap across your back ribs
-Bring the tails of the strap forward and meet them together under your thighs
-Loop and tighten the strap to your preference and relax into the support
Excellent support for meditation or releasing tight back or trunk muscles or even shoulder support & release
Play with it & see how it feels in your body

Gentle class today focus on breaking down the components of (sleeping) Pigeon Pose
We didn’t even get through my full sequence in the hour and my sequence wasn’t even half of all I truly wanted to explore in this shape. These breakdown of a pose classes are quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to connect the body to the shape and establish a deeper connection with how movement impacts us 🏃♀️💃 🤸♂️ @ Bloom Yoga in Rancho San Diego

Saturday’s Gentle class card pull; focus on opening the body for Downward Facing Dog pose
I’ve been feeling out of sorts lately, which I kind of expected as there’s a lot going on right now. The other day I started to notice that some of what I’ve been feeling is an onset of some mild depression. Two years ago I had to alter my diet for a physical ailment and as a result my, near lifetime, depression lifted. This is the first time since then that I’ve felt it creeping back in.
Last night I shared what I’ve been experiencing with my boyfriend and waking this morning I felt supported & I felt the freedom of not existing behind the veil of my senses and emotions, judgements, and shame. In drawing this card this morning I realized that the power I have is in my honesty with myself and those around me. I can’t say that positive affirmations are going to move me through my depression, though some of the right ones may help, but I am clear that respecting where I’m at and holding myself with love (when I can sense into it) does open me up to my power.

In tomorrow’s Gentle class we are going to explore all...most...some of the components of Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog) 🐶
We’ll start at the wrists & work our way down to the ankles, making stops along the way at the shoulders, hips, & legs! What we explore can easily be taken into other shapes as well as daily movement off the mat.
