A Message from Phil, Jacquelyn and Maya: We have received so many messages and calls asking about our plans for this Saints season and the truth is that we really don't have a plan.

We're incredibly grateful for the two-ish years we were able to develop a San Diego Who Dat home base at 5th Ave, but things have changed, clearly, and, although we wish things were different, we won't be "hosting" Saints games anywhere for the foreseeable future.

We absolutely appreciate the friendships (and frankly consider many of y'all our chosen family), and we are hopeful that in time, s**t won't be so complicated.

For now, we're choosing to cheer on our beloved Saints from home and accepting that God's plan doesn't always make sense in the moment, but eventually it ALWAYS does!

To be clear: This is not necessarily a permanent decision, but it will likely be for at least this season. We hope y'all continue to carry the Who Dat spirit on wherever you're watching the games and for the record, we will ALWAYS be the San Diego WHO DATS !

When: Saturday, July 24, 2021 (11am-5pm!)
Where: *NEW LOCATION!* Waterfront Park (1600 Pacific Highway)

What: Fifty (50!) pounds of spicy Louisiana crawfish, corn and potatoes per table of ten (trucked in and cooked by Cajun chefs from back home!), live music, cold draft BEER, soda and bottled water all included in ticket price 🍺🦐👨‍🍳

Why: Because crawfish, beer, zydeco and good people are ALL good for our SOULS! And it's time to live again, y'all! (Also, the LSU Alumni donates a METRIC TON of money from this event each year to provide scholarships for students who need help with pricey LSU out-of-state tuition -- so you're basically doing it for the children, right?! Right!)

How Much: $715/table of ten or $78 each individual ticket (if you don't have a group of ten, you'll be seated with your new best friends

Not-So-Fine-Print: 21+ this year (sorry, kids!), no outside drinks (coolers with food are okay), other food will be available for purchase

Bottom Line: BE THERE AND GET A LITTLE (BIG!) TASTE OF WHAT WE ALL LOVE ABOUT LOUISIANA -- the amazing food, music and friends! -- WITHOUT THE HUMIDITY AND BIG-ASS BUGS! Win-win! 💪

Early on, it looked like our defense was still trying to rest after last week. But thanks to a rock star running performance, some huge timely pass plays, and a stellar special teams day (again), the defense found their spark and completed the beat down.

In the interest of lifting our spirits (if they aren't up already), there is a way of looking at last week's game that is more optimistic.

Saints showcase Super Bowl-caliber defense in loss to Chiefs There's plenty to glean from New Orleans' loss to Kansas City in Week 15, but the most prevalent takeaway to Jeffri Chadiha is that the Saints should win the Super Bowl if the Chiefs' repeat quest falls short.

We're not going to pretend that the Saints offense did anything of true value to help out the defense and special teams that were playing their asses off today.

But overall, this could have been the worst-officiated game I have ever seen, and that includes the no-call game.

What a freaking week, right? We are looking at a few places to watch the game (because seriously, this is AMERICA!), but we probably won't post publicly here to help keep them out of the spotlight (as a judge today put a stay on the judgment from ONE DAY AGO that restaurants can "legally" stay open to serve!).

⚜️ With Brees back in and now Thomas being out against the Chiefs, there is nothing certain in our future, especially after last week's letdown in Philadelphia.

As to where we'll be watching the game on Sunday, we're in touch with a couple of really good places in San Diego and we will be choosing one as things unfold tomorrow. To reduce their exposure as "rule-breakers," your best bet is to drop us a direct message if you want to join us for some socially-distanced Who Dat game-watching!

One final thing from us: 2020 is almost over and we can soon put this (mostly) downer of a year behind us. We appreciate YOU and we're ready to cheer on our Saints with you when you're ready! We share the resilient spirit of our beloved New Orleans -- we've got this! 💪

With the Chiefs coming up next, there'd better be some more emphasis on the fundamentals in practice this week.

The Saints have a new challenge ahead tomorrow and so do we. They're facing a truly mobile quarterback for the first time this year and we'll be finding a way to stay up with the game.

In what is already a bizarre season, it just got weirder. We were a little concerned to find out that Terron Armstead tested positive for covid this week. However, it looks like as long as the game makes it to kickoff, our defense will be facing a quarterback who is not actually a quarterback per the roster. "Who Dat?" for sure.

Remember, we'll be at Mavericks Beach Club tomorrow for the 1:05pm kickoff. ⚜⚜

Every week things seem to get more weird, so we're calling an audible and watching this week's (televised!) Saints game from home (kickoff at 10am San Diego time Sunday on Fox).

While we do plan on continuing to continue our roving San Diego Who Dats party, we are taking a breather this week. All things considered: the holidays upon us, our game actually being shown on local tv, the latest round of bummer Covid mandates/restaurant restrictions and our new home base with Chef Andrew in the works, all signs point towards us laying low this week and cheering on our Saints from home.

With Brees resting up after his injuries, Taysom's got the nod to start this week. The coaches probably realized that Winston is reminding everyone of the last Saints QB to wear #2 on his jersey.
