✨ Far Westerns Championships ✨


This weekend, we also had our first swimmer in over 8 years qualify and compete at the Far Westerns Championships. Amelia Wilden swam the 100 IM, 50 Free, and 100 Butterfly. She was able to drop time in the 100 Fly and final! Dropping time in your first major swim meet is very rare, so being able to drop time and make a final is a very impressive feat!

✨ FAST B/C All Ages Meet ✨

We had a great meet this weekend at Fallbrook, with many swimmers participating in events for the first time! Overall, another great performance for the team!

Stand Out Swims:

Rylee Arnett dropped about 2 seconds in the 50 Back and about 3 seconds in the 200 Back!

Charlotte Atkins dropped 2 seconds in the 100 Back, as well as having her first legal 25 Breast!

Isabella Atkins swam her first 500 Free, getting a BB qualifying time standard in the event!

Cora Gilliland got best times in 5 events with the biggest time drop in the meet at 30 seconds in the 200 Free!

Hendrix Huston dropped over a second in his 25 Free!

Jack Johnson dropped 8 seconds in his 50 Free!

Liam Kelsey dropped time in the 50 Free, being only 1 tenth of a second away from breaking the 30-second barrier! He also dropped about 11 seconds in his 100 IM!

Bristol Mooney swam both the 50 Fly and 50 Breast for the first time! She also dropped 6 seconds in the 50 Back!

Hope Palechek dropped 3 seconds in her 100 IM!

Overall tons of great new times and new best times, well done to all our RST athletes.

✨ AGE GROUPS CHAMPIONSHIPS ✨

We took a total of 11 swimmers this year, 7 of whom qualified for individual events! As a team, we scored just over 200 points, ranking us the 12th-best overall team in the county! A special shout-out to our girls’ team, which ranked 10th overall! When you compare us to other small teams, we rank about 4th, and our girls rank third! Even though most of the other small teams have around 100 swimmers, and we’re able to compete against them and even beat some large teams with a few hundred swimmers, that’s awesome! This is the most points our team has earned since well before I started swimming! The team has continued to improve competitively at an amazing rate!

~ Charlie Spivey-Jones: Dropped 4 seconds in the 100-yard back as well as a best time in all of her events!

~ Saylor Hardy: Qualified for finals in the 200 Freestyle, placing 15th overall!

~ Austin Bahl: Qualified for his first-ever final in the 50-yard backstroke, placing 11th overall!

~ Elliot Linsmeir: Qualified for his first-ever final on his birthday at his first-ever championship meet! Dropping 4 seconds and placing 14th overall in the 50 Breaststroke.

~ Isabella Atkins: Qualified for her first-ever finals in the 200 Freestyle, 100 Yard Breaststroke, and 50 Yard Breaststroke. Most notably, the 50 Yard breaststroke qualifying for a top 8 final and finishing 7th overall!

This weekend, we finished our last swim meet of the winter season! We had a great showing with 60% of our swims being best times. Our goal is to have above 50% at every meet, so we accomplished that! We also got 5 new B Time Standards and 1 BB Time Standard.

Special Shoutouts:

Congratulations to Isabella and Austin for receiving new Age Group Championship Cuts! With these new cuts, about 25% of our active team has qualifying times for Age Group Championships! This is an awesome number, and at the rate our team is improving, I can only see it going up!

Hazel Watson completed her first swim meet this weekend and showed exceptional energy and effort. Good Job Hazel!

Noticable Time Drops:

Andromeda Atkins dropped about 2 seconds in the 50 Breastroke and received her first B time!

Isabella Atkins had the largest drop in the meet in her 100 Butterfly, dropping 20 seconds!

Austin Bahl dropped around 3 seconds in his 50 Backstroke, getting a BB time, and AGC cut!

Addie Blake dropped 10 seconds in the 200 IM!

Leo Pellecchia dropped 10 seconds in the 100 Freestyle!

Charlie Sprivey-Jones dropped 15 seconds in the 200 IM!

Great Job to all swimmers that participated in the Meet over the weekend. Every swimmer got at least 1 best time with many swimmers getting all best times or very close. Not something that happens very often. Again, usually we expect to see about 50% improvement from meet to meet but this weekend we are sitting at 81% with 89 best times out of 109 swims. We also had 20 new Age Group Standard times. 7B, 10 BB, 1 A, and 2 AA Times.

Charlotte Atkins -6 seconds in the 50 Back

Andromeda Atkins -6 seconds in 50 Back

Liam Kelsey -5 seconds in the 50 Fly and -7 seconds in the 100 Free

✨ January Rising Stars ✨

A little late with this update however we had a good Rising Stars meet in early January. Our 2026 season is off and running.
Great job to all of our younger athletes dropping some time right after the break. We had 15 Best times out of 26 swims for a 57% improvement rate. We also had 1 new BB time.

Isabella Atkins dropped 35 seconds in the 200 Free and got her JO cut.

Hope Palecheck dropped 1.5 Seconds in the 100 Free

Andromeda Atkins dropped 4 seconds in the 100 Free

We look forward to the NTS meet this coming weekend with a good size group of 23 athletes from RST participating.

✨ Winter Age Group Championships 2025 ✨

We had a fun weekend representing Ramona Swim Team. Almost everyone got at least one best time over the weekend and we had 9 new Age group time standards. 1 AA, 5 A, 2 BB, and 1 B time. We also had 3 new team records in both the 10 and under girls relays (Isabella Atkins, Andromeda Atkins, Eva Pellecchia and Amelia Wilden) and Finnlee in the 50 Breast.
