MEET MATILDA! 🦘🇦🇺

You asked, we listened! Thank you to everyone who helped name our Perth 2027 World Police and Fire Games mascot.

We’re excited to officially introduce Matilda (or Tilly to her mates)! 💚💛

Inspired by the iconic Australian bush ballad Waltzing Matilda, often referred to as Australia’s unofficial national anthem, her name is a little nod to our Australian heritage as we prepare to welcome first responders from around the world to Perth in March 2027.

Want to take a little piece of Australia home with you? You’ll be able to get your very own plush Matilda at Games time - the perfect keepsake to remember your Perth 2027 experience!

Welcome to the team, Tilly! 🦘

THE GAMES APP IS HERE 📱

For the first time in World Police and Fire Games history, the Games will have its own dedicated app.

The Perth 2027 team has proudly partnered with SixSides to develop a custom Games App designed specifically for registered Perth 2027 athletes and Friends and Family.

The app will help you connect with fellow athletes before and during the Games, discover what sports are happening nearby so you can cheer on your fellow competitors, and receive real-time notifications and updates relating to your sports 🌏

Over the next few days, we’ll also be sending you a welcome series prepared by our app developer, SixSides, to help you explore the app and get familiar with its functionality ahead of Games time. Hint: Keep an eye on your inbox – and check your spam folder! 👀

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
To create your account, you’ll be asked to enter an email address. Please use the same email address you used to register for the Games.
You’ll then be asked for your account number. You can find this on your registration confirmation email – scroll to the bottom and look for the number next to Account. Hint: It will usually be a seven-digit number beginning with 3.

WHO CAN ACCESS THE APP?
The WPFG App is exclusively available to registered Perth 2027 athletes and registered Friends and Family.

15 YEARS AGO… NEW YORK CITY 🇺🇸🔥

Almost 15 years to the day, 50 WA firefighters made the trip to New York for the 2011 World Police and Fire Games.

Different city. Different Games. Same camaraderie.

Photos like this are a great reminder of what the World Police and Fire Games are all about – representing your service, travelling with your mates, meeting first responders from around the world and making memories that stick around long after the medals are packed away.

If your crew is heading to Perth 2027, start gathering the team photo now – we want to see who’s coming!
