🎅🏽Calling all Santa’s Helpers! Tomorrow, Sat Dec 18, from 9am-11am, over 100 local families and seniors will receive a Holiday Care Package! Volunteers worked their magic all week to prepare, and now we need your help to get the job done!

If you have a vehicle and a few spare minutes, delivering is easy, heartwarming, and the perfect way to get into the Holiday spirit!

Starting at 9:00 am drive down the alley from Ebers, (between Del Monte and Santa Cruz), pull into the Masonic Center parking lot (on your left) we will load your car for you, give you an address, and you’ll be on your way to make somebody’s Holiday so much brighter!

With summer in San Diego in full effect, it’s important for us to stay hydrated especially if we’re hitting the gym regularly.

Here’s a few tips to keep in mind:

Our thirst mechanism is a natural calculator for how much to drink and when to drink. In other words, you don’t have to guess what your potential fluid loss and hydration needs are because your thirst will guide you.

Everyone’s hydration needs are different and affected by how much they exercise and what environment they are in. Both of these variables impact sweating a fluid loss.

Another factor that can change hydration needs is overall health. Being sick, having a fever or even being pregnant or breastfeeding can increase thirst.

There is no need to pre-hydrate or rehydrate if you don’t feel thirsty. This becomes even more important during exercise. The risk for complications due to improper hydration increases as we exercise.

Keep those tips in mind as we enjoy this amazing weather! And if you’re at the gym, bring some water with you or grab one of our drinks. They’re just as delicious as they are hydrating!

The community aspect at CrossFit OB is part of what makes what we offer a bit different.

Everyone walks into our gym with their own goals or things they’d like to work on but we get to do them as a group.

Encouraging each other along the way as we watch ourselves and others do things we never thought possible on our first day.

It’s that type of energy and camaraderie that keeps you engaged, motivated and focused on bettering your health and fitness every day.
