WE WON! Board of Supervisors Vote Unanimously Against Cottonwood Sand Mine
September 11, 2025 Update YOU DID IT! THANK YOU You flooded the Chamber rooms. You flooded the phone lines. You flooded their inboxes. One voice made a difference. Thousands were not ignored. Together, we STOPPED this sand mine from happening.
It was quite a day in the County Board of Supervisors Meeting, with multiple 10 minute long group presentations and dozens upon dozens of individual speakers. The community overwhelmingly voiced concern and asked the County Supervisors to make the right decision. And they did just that; County of San Diego Staff’s recommendation to deny the project was upheld!!!
