East County Surf Boys 2010 Select Fundraiser 03/13/2022

Hello all!😃 Please consider donating any amount you may be able to spare to help one of the players I coach, Jacob, and his family, join his team in traveling to compete in the prestigious Dallas Cup! ‼️

Jacob is a respectful and motivated player who’s abilities have led him to a top Surf team this year. Unfortunately the trip isn’t free. Airfare, hotel, food and other expenses are taken into account! Any help would be amazing as his family’s goal is for at least him and one family member to go. 🙏

I myself had the opportunity to go to Dallas Cup at Jacob’s age and know first hand of the amazing experience both on and off the field that comes with it( and the expenses😮‍💨)

Please consider helping him experience such an amazing opportunity for not just the player he is, but also the person he is. Thank you!

Sometimes AFTER a session, or for the last 5-8 minutes, I like to give a challenge or a circuit for the players. It is NOT part of the actual coaching. Sometimes, players can get mentally fatigue from the learning they’ve done during a session, which is why I sometimes like give them Challenges or Circuits towards the end. This allows them to motivate themselves to complete the given challenge/circuit and still get some touches on the ball.

Wanna make it extra fun? Make a leaderboard or a personal time sheet, players will get an extra boost trying to continuously improve.

Each clip shows part of dribbling/passing pattern followed by a correction. 1-2 corrections max at a time to not overwhelm players. You can hear and see the progress throughout the video.

Some may argue that passing/dribbling patterns have no purpose or do not replicate game situations but, one must also remember that to execute game movements and decisions effectively, one must also have the technical and body mechanical details right first. Otherwise just knowing where to go or where to pass without being able to execute right will not be enough.

READ THIS!!!!🚨🚨🚨 The field may not be nice, the first touch may not be great, and the pass may not be perfect, but the game continues always.

Jack and Julia, brother and sister duo working on lots of technical details like turning with the ball, passing, receiving, first touch, and more. Despite making technical errors, they pushed through until the play was over. Some feedback was added at the end. I keep my feedback focused on 1-2 things at a time to not overwhelm the player/s at one moment.

Although passing patterns may not have a decision making focus, they help improve technical and body mechanical things you’ll need in decision making situations. With the right coach, a simple passing pattern can help improve more then just passing.
