I have been a fan of this channel for quite awhile. This is a solid video focusing on use of rear brake and it's really worth watching, especially if you are in the earlier stages of motorcycling.
I've noted there is a ton of misunderstanding around braking in general and it is actually a bit alarming how many of our students who come with their own bikes to class (meaning they've been riding on the streets for awhile) have rather minimal knowledge of which brake to use or when. Typically they over-rely on the rear brake and on engine braking -which is another topic. Conversely, I've spoken with some more experienced riders who've reported that they only use the front brake regardless of conditions.
Give this a watch. Happy for any feedback or share your experiences. And check out some of the other vids on that channel.
Are You Using Your Rear Brake Correctly? (Probably Not)

Had a great time at Metcalf off-road park yesterday. Huge thanks to Clay Murphy and FirstRides for the class, to the fantastic crew and to Lucy Carrera Dame Rose Lacy and Andy Moraga for their work in putting it all together. Man, I need to get out in the dirt more often! Why do I always put it down for so long?! It was so much fun riding and spending a gorgeous day with all of you.

If you're the kind of person who likes fun and if you're the kind of person who likes motorcycles then you surely yearn for fun on motorcycles.
Thailand is a wonderful place to have lots of giggles on two wheels. And what a gorgeous country it is.
Please be inspired looking at how deliciously twisty these routes are. They are also potentially treacherous if you do not possess the skills and confidence for full enjoyment.
I implore you all to come ride a motorcycle in Thailand and may you be well incentivized to develop your skills accordingly.

Happy new year everyone! Just wanted to share this beautiful card that one of my students created for me BY HAND as I'm about to leave for Thailand (where I shall be motorbiking a northern loop).
I don't post enough but I'll try to on the trip.

Good pal Mr. Machine hasn't been on a bike in 15+ years. He picked up a Zero the other day so we got together for a refresher. Cleaned up a few things and got him making good use of his front brake. I believe he left a different man!
My friend the hawk was up in his perch today scanning for dinner.

When you just want to get out of town for a couple hours amazing roads and cool little spots are so close by. Enjoying the last weeks of northern Cali summer when the opportunity presents itself.

Great Road Guardians Accident Scene Management and CPR class yesterday hosted by and aided by Scuba the very friendly and beautiful husky. Our instructor Joe was most excellent!
If you ride a motorcycle... or ski or scuba or pretty much go anywhere in public I highly recommend taking a course like this. It could save a friend's life.
