Over the last few days, we’ve shared with you parts of what makes The Fog who we are. We are a dedicated group of people from all walks of life who found each other through the sport of rugby. When you join us, you’ll discover that rugby can be fun, tough, and at times a bit chaotic but we love it. We work hard, play hard, show up for each other and our community. Some of us came to The Fog looking for community, others came wanting to try something new or to reconnect with a sport they once loved. No matter the reason, we’re excited to have you and we can’t wait to see where your rugby journey takes you.

One of the greatest opportunities of being part of The Fog is the chance to travel domestically and internationally with your team. Competing in tournaments against inclusive rugby clubs from around the world is something every player should experience. These tournaments are a chance to go to places you’ve never been, show up for your teammates, and put everything you’ve learned out on the pitch. Win, lose, or draw, we all share a love of the game and the community. No matter where you are in the world, rugby is universal.

For some LGBTQIA+ people, sports teams have felt like a place where they can’t be themselves. We believe fostering a safe environment both on and off the pitch can change that perception, so you can show up as you are. The Fog believes everyone who wants to join should have the chance to experience the camaraderie inherent in rugby. For some, rugby has given our teammates confidence they’ve never known before; for others, it has reunited them with a sport they didn’t think was for them. We believe that when you show up ready to learn and put in the work, rugby can change lives.

It’s a common misconception that you need to have rugby experience prior to joining The Fog. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Most of our players have never touched a rugby ball before joining. Our coaches teach beginners from the ground up. For folks joining us with previous experience, Pathway is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn our style of coaching. So, if you’re ready to push yourself, learn new skills, and meet fellow athletes, lace up your boots—we’ll see you on the pitch!

Established in 2000, The San Francisco Fog Rugby Club is the first inclusive rugby club on the west coast. Since its inception, our mission has been clear. The Fog is dedicated to creating an inclusive, competitive and supportive environment where LGBTQIA+ people and allies can learn, excel in and celebrate rugby both on and off the pitch. Many of our players and supporters have found long lasting friendships through the camaraderie that rugby can bring. Rugby IS and will always be for everyone.

Fresh off the pitch after our most successful season to date, we’re getting ready to kick off our 2026-2027 pre-season with our Pathway to Rugby course. 2027 is on the calendar. 🗓️🏉

Fresh off a third-place finish at the 2026 Bingham Cup in Brisbane, Australia, the Fog is back for its next NCRFU campaign. Our Tier 3 schedule has four home games, five on the road, and one goal: still be playing in May.

Day three of IGR Bingham & Amanda Mark Cup scores for Fog A, B and C with wins across the board. Thank you Bingham Cup participants for strong competition and a memorable tournament!

Fog A finished in one of their best tournaments ever, making it to Bingham Cup semi finals in a dramatic overtime game against the Sydney Convicts Rugby Club.

Fog B and Fog C getting your first wins, getting plays in, improving so much as a team, and playing extremely strong international teams.
