Hi everyone, we’ve got a race post to conclude our fall season!

A few weeks ago, UCIDB paddled in the 18th annual College Cup in San Francisco. This was our most anticipated race of the year for both our returning vets as well as the 23rd Gen newbies. Despite only having a couple weeks of training this season, everybody gave it their all and our efforts definitely showed. Both our Thunder and Wind boats really brought the energy!

Congratulations to all our paddlers! We are proud of the team’s dedication and hard work this CC, and we hope it was a race to be remembered.

My name is Yen! I am a fourth year Public Health Sciences major and UCIDB’s 23rd Gen president.

My goal this year is to foster a welcoming community with and for all of our members, creating a fun, safe space where we can push ourselves athletically on and off the water as well as share some fun memories at all of our social events!!

Outside of dragon boat, I enjoy spending my time trying various cafes and food spots with my friends! I also really love to collect blind boxes and go to concerts.

This team was definitely something outside of my comfort zone, having never paddled or even hearing about this sport before joining college. However, this team has given so many amazing memories to me with some of the funniest, smartest, and kind people.

I am very excited to meet everyone during recruitment events :)). See you there!!

Heyyy everyone! My name is Jonathan Fino. I am a 4th-year biomedical engineering major, and I am so excited and proud to serve as your 23rd-generation Vice President ミ ᕕ(ᐛ) ᕗ

As Vice President, my job and goals are to serve the team and its members in any way possible. While at the same time, ensuring that everything goes smoothly, staying connected with our alumni community, helping in planning the logistics of all our events, and most importantly, making every moment that you share with UCIDB is an unforgettable experience!!!

My dragonboat journey began when I joined UCIDB during my first year, and I have been hooked ever since. When I arrived at UCI, my first goal was to find a place where I fit in. I stumbled upon this club at AIF, and by taking the risk of trying out for a sport I had never heard of, I found more than that. I found a community of people I can call friends and family.

Beyond dragonboat, I am super interested in cosmology and anything space-related! Also, I’m the type of person to be down for anything, any adventure, going out to try new foods or experiences, so if you have any ideas for an adventure, let’s go! You might also find me playing video games, honing my cooking skills, and keeping up with the latest One Piece chapter.

Ultimately, UCIDB has given me so much, and we are ready to do the same for you! So if you are curious about our community and or the sport, please don’t hesitate to come out to our recruitment events and take the chance to find your next big adventure!
