Modern BIG Fella Skills šŸ€

Jokic put on an absolute Clinic on what it takes to be a modern big man in game 7, finishing with 16 pts, 13 assists, 22 rebounds, 3 blocks & 2 steals. -

Skills displayed:

1ļøāƒ£ PASSING. The modern big has to be able to pass out of multiple situations. Multiple pick and roll angles, including short rolls on mid pick and roll, out of post doubles, etc. The best bigs in todayā€™s game make their teammates better! Jokic is the best in the world at it.

2ļøāƒ£ The ability to shoot! The modern big can stretch the D. Despite struggling from deep in game 7, Jokicā€™s ability to shoot when left open or in pick and pop situations makes him a threat the D has to at least respect.

3ļøāƒ£ Scoring & finishing off either foot with either hand.

4ļøāƒ£ REBOUNDING - The offensive skill increases in the modern big have caused some to think they donā€™t have to rebound. Job #1 for a big still has to be to DOMINATE the glass. Jokic has averaged right at 10 rebounds per game for the last 4 seasons, good for 8th in the NBA this season. -

The Nuggets core is young & talented! If they stay together, they have a chance to be special for a long time. Do you think they ready for the challenge of Lebron and the Lakers? Weā€™re calling Lakers in 6 but weā€™re pulling for the Joker, Murray and the Nuggets. Fun team to watch.

If you don't know a play, or where to be in a defense, don't just go into the game and guess. Communicate with your coaches. Ask them to draw it up. They'll be happy to show you. On the other hand, they're not gonna be happy if you go in there & have no idea.
