✨COACH✨

Introducing the coaches for the 2023-2024 school year! Without them, we would not be flourishing as a team. Within their tight schedule, they manage to be here for our team and prepare all of our couples to be ready for competitions. We thank them for all their hard work and dedication.

Christopher Li has been dancing for 14 years, and was one of the founding fathers for SJSU Club Dancesport in 2009. He has put in tremendous amounts of effort into rebuilding our team since the pandemic hit. Through encouraging our members to be a part of our team, in addition to encouraging members to join the officer board, he has helped grow our team and create a family of ballroom dancers. His favorite dance style is Standard Ballroom.

“I started dancing to meet girls. I kept dancing because it became my passion and a way to make friends. I stayed in dancesport because I wanted to pass these traits off to my students and the next generation of SJSU dancers”

Katie Krajovic is an alum of Northeastern University, and has been dancing for 13 years. Katie joined our team in the summer of 2022, assisting in teaching our team our formation routines and coaching us for competition. This semester and the next year we welcome her to be one of the head coaches for our team. We appreciate all her efforts to help our team grow in skill level in addition to having a fun family in dancesport

“I started dancing when I was 14 and instantly fell in love with it. I keep dancing because in dance, no matter what you achieve, there is always another goal that you can set for yourself. I love having something to work towards everyday and being able to train and compete and see progress towards whatever it is I’m working on.”

Tammy Cheng has been dancing for 10 years and joined our team in 2013. She’s the busy and working mom of our team, but the efforts put into rebuilding our team in 2020 and helping it get to where it is today, has not gone unnoticed. We greatly appreciate Tammy for what she’s done for us. Her favorite dance style is the International Latin.

“I came into dancesport as a freshman at SJSU and wanted to do something different and try something my younger self never had the courage to attempt. Through dancing, I found a sport and art that became my passion, life long friends internationally, and more importantly, myself.”

✨ PRESIDENT ✨

Introducing our newest president, Uditi Guha (aka DJ Guha, President Guha, Dr. Guha, Bestie Guha). She is going to be a second year, in addition to entering her third semester with Dancesport. Her favorite dance style is the Smooth Tango.

“I joined ballroom because I love dance and have always wanted to try ballroom! I fell in love with it instantly not just because of the dance but also because of the family like community we have on the team :)”

05/12/2023

✨CHOREO DIRECTOR✨

Introducing Kelsey Wu, our choreography director for the next year. This is a NEW position where Kelsey will be handling organizing the formation routines the team does for performances. Kelsey is going to be a third year, entering her 5th semester in dancesport. She was the team’s president for 1.5 years and helped rebuild the team from scratch. Her hard work and dedication has helped the team get to where it is today. Her favorite dance style is the standard ballroom.

“I loved dancing ever since I could remember, and I’ve always wanted to take lessons. As for why I chose Latin and Ballroom, it’s because of love at first sight. I just felt really excited and fell in love with these dances. Of course, the anime, “Welcome To The Ballroom”, and the pretty dresses also played a major role that made me come back after I decided to stop dancing for about 6 years”

05/11/2023

✨ TREASURER ✨

Introducing Zoe Prodromides, our treasurer! She will be a third year and will be entering her four semester with dancesport. Her favorite dance style is the International Cha Cha.

“I’ve been dancing for years but didn’t discover ballroom until I started college. I joined the dancesport team and fell in love with not only the dances but the people too!”

✨SAFETY & MARKETING✨

Introducing Tammy Tran, the second half the Safarketorian duo! She is going to be a 4th year, and she will also be in her 3rd semester with our dance team.

“I took one of the dance classes in Fall 2021 and ultimately fell in love with partner dancing. Despite literally dislocating my kneecap the week before a dance midterm, I still continued to have a passion in dance and took another class the next semester. That’s when I decided to join the team itself. Dancesport brought me a second family. We’re a bunch of goofs who compete and perform. I’ve never thought I’d feel this welcomed in a team. I’m proud to be a part of this family because even if you have two left feet, this team can help change one of them into a right foot fr”

“I fell in love with ballroom dance last semester and it has been stuck into me since then! You should totally join the dance club because we’re all full of dorks with different personalities who loves to dance and would greet you with open arms!”
