Deep belly breathing

Deep abdominal breathing, or diaphragmatic breathing, is a simple and safe exercise. It teaches proper breathing using the diaphragm rather than the pectoral muscles. It has been scientifically proven that deeper and slower breaths, performed with diaphragmatic breathing, help improve attention and reduce stress.

Hint: with proper diaphragmatic breathing, the shoulders remain motionless, and movements occur at the abdominal level — in and out.

Breathing technique:

Find a comfortable position, sitting or standing.
Place one hand on your stomach, just below your ribs, and the other on your chest.
Inhale deeply through your nose, pressing your hand to your stomach.
Exhale with compressed lips, as if blowing out a candle.
Push all the air out of your stomach with your hand.
Repeat 3 to 10 times.

Recovery Session for Thorough Lower Back Strengthening 🧘✨
You’ll find this session at the Olympic level in the conditioning section. 🥇 We’ve mentioned before that fencers have three most injury-prone areas: knees 🦵, ankles 🦶, and the lower back. The lower back ranks first, accounting for nearly half of all fencing injuries. 🚨 This is directly related to the fencing position and the movement limited to a single plane. The human body simply isn’t designed for this. So, what’s the solution? There is one! ✅ We’ve gathered the most effective and productive exercises to strengthen the lower spine in this session, which we use ourselves for recreation and rehabilitation. 🌟
If done regularly, these exercises will at the very least help keep your lower back balanced between tone and relaxation, reducing the risk of future injuries. 💥 At best, they’ll restore the alignment of your spine, relieving constant pain and compression. 💪✨
