How long have you been coaching?

I have been coaching track and field for three years. This is my first year coaching cross country, marking the beginning of my fourth year as a coach!

Who is your favorite athlete?

My favorite athlete is Katie Moon (formerly Katie Nageotte), an American pole vaulter. She won Olympic gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics and World Championship gold in 2022 and 2023, as well as Olympic silver in 2024. I was a pole vaulter in high school and at UC Irvine, so I’ve followed her career closely throughout the years and have loved watching her compete at the highest level.

What is your favorite sports memory/greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement in pole vault was placing second in the Open Division at the Arcadia Track & Field Invitational during my junior year of high school. That performance was especially meaningful because it helped lead to an opportunity to continue pole vaulting at UC Irvine, where I competed as a Division I student-athlete.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is pasta! I could probably eat it every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it.

What is your favorite movie/TV show?

My favorite movie is The Princess Bride because I think it has the perfect mix of action, comedy, and romance. Fun fact: the movie was nearly canceled twice before it finally went into production!

Fun fact about yourself?

I go line dancing once a week! I recently competed in my first line dancing competition and placed third overall, which was such a fun experience.
