Our Annual Christmas Women's Doubles Round Robin had another great turnout! 50 ladies spread the Holiday Cheer on and off the courts on Saturday, December 3rd, at the Santa Barbara Tennis Club. Five groups from A to C level battled for Jeff's Famous Christmas Baskets 😉. Thanks to everyone who participated and congratulations to the winners.

The new Graphene Touch Speed Series has arrived! Come out and test drive the new Speed S, Speed MP, and Speed Pro (Djokovic's racquet of choice). Demos are strung and ready to be played with. The Endless Summer Women's Doubles Round Robin was another successful event! There were 15 teams who enjoyed a fun afternoon of tennis. Congrats to the following teams for winning their division. Congrats to the winners of each division: Shannon/Nina 25 games (A2), Heather/Pat 18 games & Sam/Frankie 18 games & Betsy/Debbie 18 games (A2) - Three way tie - no joke, Rosie/Michele 19 games (A), Elizabeth/Sally (C). Winners got HEAD string and swag for their efforts.

We had a beautiful day for the finals of my 10th Annual Women's Doubles Tournament. Congrats to Shannon Minne/Nina Leonard for winning the A2 group over Cindy Steffen/Beth Ford. In the C final Lacy Selby/Thresea Cannizzaro edged Lori Weathers/Noel Johnson in a 7-6 in the 3rd match! Thanks for everyone who participated.

The Rally For The Cure Women's Doubles Robin Round last Saturday was a huge success. 40 ladies participated in a fun filled day that included a great presentation by Dr Sarah Washburn, a few hours on the court, and a raffle/silent auction. Thanks to everyone who participated. It was a great day not to mention raising a lot of money for a great cause.

Our Annual Rally For The Cure Women’s Doubles Round Robin has been set for Saturday, October 18th from 11:30am to 4:00pm (playing 1:00pm-3:30pm). The minimum you would need to be there is 12:00pm – 3:30pm if you cannot stay the whole time. Get ready for a fun day on and off the courts to help raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. All ladies of all levels are invited to participate. Sign up as an individual. Cost $35 -bring check or cash payable to SBTC. All participants will receive a gift bag, magazine subscription, entry into raffle, entry into the infamous one-point tournament, and food & drink. We are asking all players bring their favorite appetizer to share. If you do not play in the event you are more than welcome to help us organize it or participate in the raffle. Dr. Rosa Choi will be giving a fabulous presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness. If you own a business or have a special talent and would like to donate something to the raffle that would be greatly appreciated. Dear Friends of Gaucho Tennis,

The UCSB men's season gets underway tomorrow as the Gauchos host players from UCLA, CAL, Fresno State, LMU, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Grand Canyon University, UC Riverside and UC San Diego for the UCSB Classic.

This will be a great chance for our fans to check out the 2014-15 Gauchos in action as ALL three tennis complexes on campus will be in use to play an estimated 124 matches over the weekend.

Flight A (at the Rec Cen courts) will feature UCSB ace Tobias Galskov, who enters the season ranked #19 in the southwest region; sophomore Teague Hamilton and newcomer Morgan Mays.

Flight B (at Rob Gym) includes Gauchos Erik Johnsson as well as new team members Nathan Eshmade and Cody Rakela.

Flight C (at the Stadium Road Courts) will feature Gaucho co-captain Ziad Sultan and freshman Chase Masciorini.

In short, there will be great tennis on display EVERYWHERE.

Matches will begin at 1pm tomorrow (Friday), and at 8am both Saturday and Sunday. Play will conclude at approximately 6pm on Friday and Saturday. Final round action will take place Sunday morning and the tournament should be completed by noon.

We hope you'll be able to come out and support your 2014-15 UCSB squad this weekend.
