We were on the East Walker River when we came up to a section of river with fly fishing guide Whitney Inmon, and I asked her about how she would target this section of river with her streamer.

Jarett C***s owns Sierra Mountain Trout Guide Service and I asked Jarett when I was up there with him if there was one rig that he would take up there, what would it be if that's all he had to be able to target those all those various different kinds of species.
Probably some of the words that you most hear out there being guided for steelhead on a drift boat, "Mend the line". So we talked a little bit about something from someone who has got a lot of experience, knowledge and skill at that. And that's Mike Bean who is a fly fishing guide in Northern California and who is the owner of Mike Bean Fly Fishing about mending the line.
A visit with fly fishing enthusiast and author Kathy Sparrow
You have just a ton of options in California for different types of fishing and different types of waters. I was down with fly fishing guide Tyler Vanosdell, who's the owner of Mission Bay Fly Fishing Company Fishing on Mission Bay. He guides there as well as San Diego Bay and some of the beaches in the area and talked rigging.
Here's a great description from fly fishing guide Happy Nguyen, the owner of Goodwater Fly Fishing on the rigging he uses on Putah Creek, which is a fishery there in Northern California. I love the detail that he goes through here, and it kind of gets you thinking on maybe some of the things that you might want to use in your own rigging.
Luong Tam is the owner of Tenkara Tanuki and is a really knowledgeable and fun guy. Here is is talking a little bit about tenkara and his philosophy and his take on that technique.
I asked fly fishing guide David D'Beaupre, who's the owner of Sierra Trout Magnet if he could give one good tip about fishing the Lower Owens River, what would it be? And here's what he had to say.
So I had a chance to be out on the water with Fred Rowe. He is with Sierra Bright Dot, and he is a fly fishing guide in the eastern Sierra. And he pulled out of his pack these foam rings that he uses to pre-set up several rigs so that he can quickly get to them and change them out on the water.
I got a chance to spend the day with fly fishing guide Whitney Inman, who with the Anglers Edge. She guides on the East Walker River up there in Eastern California and Nevada. And we were there on the East Walker River, and she kind of walked me through a run to give me some detail of her tactics. We love to go through reading and understanding water and hopefully you will be able to pick up a few tips to use in your own techniques and strategies when you're fly fishing on your home waters.
This is jigging for bass on the canals up in that area. We often think of Owens River and Lake Crowley and Hot creek for trout up in that area. But what about this warm water species for bass and maybe carp in the canals, ponds and reservoirs up in that area, up in the desert? This video out of fly fishing guide Jarett C***s, who is the owner of Sierra Mountain Trout Guide Service talking about his strategy.
