One month in the Bay Area, and we already feel incredibly lucky to be here. ❤️

Yesterday we got to be part of an incredible afternoon of Hank Williams music at the historic Ivy Room in Albany, alongside Nashville Honeymoon and legendary steel guitarist .

What a treat to play in such a great old room with so many talented musicians. This is exactly the kind of musical community we hoped to find when we made the move west.

And tomorrow, we make our San Francisco debut at the legendary THE DELUXE!

Thank you to all the local musicians, venues, and folks who have welcomed us so warmly. We’ve only been here a month, but we already feel at home.

San Francisco, we’ll see you tomorrow. 🤠

One month in San Francisco! 🌁❤️

We are absolutely loving it here. So much fun discovering new playgrounds, new trails, daytime beach trips after school, and all the little things that are starting to make this place feel like home.

And on the music side, it’s been so exciting meeting so many incredible musicians, finding new jams, and getting to explore the Bay Area music scene.

We feel incredibly grateful to be here and excited for everything ahead. One month down! 🥰

Square dancing in the Los Gatos Hills, followed by a morning kitty-cat video fest at 4 Star Theater with the family. What a way to spend a beautiful Saturday in the Bay Area.

Then, at the end of the dance, the band closed with “Tennessee Waltz.”

In one song, we felt the sadness of missing our friends and our old home, right alongside the joy of being here and starting this new chapter in California.

What a beautiful song. What a beautiful melody.

Music really is incredible. It can take you somewhere you haven’t been in years and somehow make you feel exactly where you are.

Friday night in San Francisco’s Haight Street neighborhood.

Caught the Forever Dead exhibit at the Haight Street Art Center, then headed over to the Counter Culture Museum to hear family members of the Beat Generation talk about what it was like growing up around the Beats.

A pretty incredible introduction to the history, art, music, and counterculture of the Haight. We have a feeling there’s a whole lot more of San Francisco’s art scene waiting to be explored.

Last night, I got sidetracked on my way to a jam session in North Beach.

I passed City Lights Bookstore and couldn’t not go in.

Walking through those doors felt a little like taking my younger self on a date. I’ve always been fascinated by the Beat Generation, and there was something pretty special about standing in that legendary bookstore, surrounded by the poetry, literature, and history that came out of this place.

I could have easily spent the entire night there.
