Iโm really loving this special time! I enjoy being pregnant! I love watching my belly grow with life, feeling her kicks and hiccups, and even the uncomfortable days are ok because they have a purpose, itโs all to make more space and more nourishment for my sweet girl and so becomes bearable as I breathe through it all.
Nesting is no joke! I feel an intense deep down drive to clean and organize every drawer and cupboard, to clean and fold every little piece of clothing, to cook and prepare a wintersโ worth of food, and Iโm grateful for all of this energy I have that is making it possible.
I notice myself wishing for her to be here already and at the same time feeling sad that our pregnancy will soon be complete - a wishing for time to move faster and also more slowly all at once. And so just for today Iโll try my best to be present to this day, grateful for this breath, here and now in this moment with her tumbling around in my tummy ๐ฅฐ

There are many serious details to consider as we get closer to her arrival - and of course in caring for a newborn - so I will hold intentions through this year to invoke a spirit of playfulness in my nurturing and thank our sweet girl for all sheโs teaching me already ๐๐ผ

Baby hugging breaths ๐ฅฐ
Easiest to access in all fours as you can feel the weight of baby.
Begin with neutral spine.
Inhale releasing weight of baby,
Exhale hugging baby in all directions (front back, left right, top bottom)
As if you could hold your baby with your breath.
Inhale release. Repeat. Begin with 3 hugs each day, or more if it feels right for your body and your baby. Do not ever force or stain. Listen to your body, you know best.

Our time together begins with a sharing circle, (if you wish to share): an opportunity to voice and give power to our intentions, wishes and prayers. We then move through a gentle Yin Yoga sequence - a gravity practice of long held postures to release tension, stagnation and stress, and to promote healing. Finally, we will end with a Restorative Yoga practice, a series of supported poses to assist in full body relaxation: A time to tune into the wisdom of your womb, to welcome the feminine energy of creation and to make space to receive nourishment and ease.

Breathing deeply is important for everyone: more oxygen and longer breaths bring more energy to your system, help to stabilize blood pressure and lower stress. Deep, conscious breathing is especially important in pregnancy, when you are also breathing for your baby ๐ and can become more challenging as baby grows and the uterus begins push against the diaphragm.

In the fertility & pregnancy journey itโs challenging to be now, always wanting to fast forward and reach for that moment when my healthy, happy baby is safely in my arms. I am noticing my desire to reach for the future and practicing presence. Just for today, I will practice being with what is here and now. Today I am grateful for my healthy body, my healthy baby growing strong at 20 weeks. Iโm grateful for each kick and craving, so grateful for the opportunity to feel her growing in my womb. This is a good place to be and Iโm so grateful for this moment. And for today, this is enough. I love you sweet girl ๐
๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ The reclining bound angle pose stretches the groin, inner thighs, and hips, can relieve symptoms of stress and anxiety and opens the energy of the pelvic girdle. It also stimulates the abdominal and reproductive organs, improves digestion and increases blood circulation. This is an excellent pose in promoting fertility at pre-conception and nourishing the uterus and baby during pregnancy and also is generally helpful for ALL bodies as it nourishes the abdominal organs and promotes relaxation, which we can all use more of ๐
โจCreate a ramp of pillows so that head is above heart and heart above hips
โจPlace pillows, blocks or rolled towels under thighs so that hips are open but completely supported
โจwarm socks, eye pillow and weighted puppy support optional ๐
โจthis shape can also be taken without props, though you may only find it comfortable for one minute, give or take. With props and complete support, this shape can be taken for 20 minutes
โจwhen finished roll onto left side into fetal shape and rest for a few breaths or longer.
Remember: if it feels good, youโre doing it right, listen to the wisdom of your body and your bones ๐๐ผ
