It is with great sadness that we tell you that our friend, Dave Carmel, passed away today.
Dave most recently served as the Fort Orange District Commissioner, providing service to 74 Packs, Troops, Crews, and Explorer Posts. His leadership in Unit service, membership, and scout program helped lead the way for Fort Orange to earn the Gold Journey to Excellence status in 2017.
He also served on staff at the University of Scouting, Fort Orange Day Camp, was a District Committee Member, Merit Badge Counselor, and Committee Member of Troop 670 of Cohoes. He also served on many Council Camporee staffs.
Dave was a Woodbadger, and was affectionately known as the "Wise Old Owl."

Mailing Mistake
I want to apologize for a mistake that was made in a mailing the week of December 1. A Friends of Scouting fund raising letter was sent out Council wide. The letter was addressed with our youth member name on it. That was a mistake...

Hey Wood Badger's! Remember how much fun you had at our last course? Remember how much you learned? How many new friends you made? Then help us to share the experience with your unit friends. The Twin Rivers Council is holding a course in 2013 at Camp Boyhaven in September and August. The staff has been selected and they are excited to pass on their knowledge to more of Scouting's leadership. Please share this information with anyone you think might benefit from the Wood Badge course. Info can be found at the attached link.http://www.trcscouting.org/Event.aspx?id=2614
