Being an E Tenneseean, we all loved Dolly. Its just a part of you when you grow up there. Ill share my story in her honor. Because I was fortunate enough to actually get to know her for a time.
She worked on a project with my mother when I was a young man. Expanding the library at Carson Newman College(now Univ). I got to meet her and was always around during meetings and dinners n such. She was so damn kind to me. Never left me out. Wanted to know everything about what I wanted to be and do when I grew up. Insisted I call her Aunt Dolly, and she better get a hug any time she saw me. And that woman gave awesome hugs. She would always ask about me when she spoke to my mom, all the way through HS and beyond. Even helped me with scholarships for school. I genuinely cried today. Right in front of my coworkers and Drs.Dont care. We've lost a genuine treasure, and Im grateful for how she touched my life.

Life sends changes your way professionally and personally from time to time , sometimes exactly when it should. I expect Ill be on the Gulf for good sometime soon.

Day off work. So wandered out to PSFB area for a few hours. 8 to 1. Water got progressively less clear. No whiting to be found. Pulled a couple decently large sailcats. Nothin special but some fun action. Very sharky out there today.

I missed posting this yesterday because I was busy with work.
But every June 23rd is a personal holiday. My Superhero Day.
Happy Birthday to the man responsible for raising me to be the good person I try to be every day, taught me just about everything I know of value, and is solely responsible for my love of everything outdoorsman and fishing. My Father. The one and only Chuck Watson. He would have been 90 today.
He's watched over me the last 9 years from above and always been there when Ive poured a little of his favorite beer on the sand and said "help me out, here, Daddy"

Here's a fun history lesson I learned today..
ZEBCO began as The Zero Explosive and Bomb Company. They manufactured almost 30% of the US Military's explosive ordinance during WW2 (NOT eleven), and retooled after the war to manufacture fishing equipment.

Couple of shorts today. Fishing on the Gulf at Honeymoon Island. Was talking to another dude passing by and just saying I hadn't had anything special yet when the ol Fishbites rod started bouncing. NICE slab of a keeper on a SquatchPomp Rigs Lavendar Cyclops.

Weekend tally of good catches for team SquatchPomp Rigs. Creatures, beads, and Cyclops rigs all produced well. First couple days of good conditions after a few weeks. Fishbites, shrimp, live fleas, and fresh cut baitfish. Threw it all for testing and fun.
