Being able to call Cantine Veterans Memorial Sports Complex home, is nothing short of special. The complex itself; like no other. All of the fields are the best and nicest around. Throw in two basketball courts, 3 playgrounds, soccer fields, a skate park, and ice rink! I mean come on!!! I know there is no place I’d rather spend part of my summer. I also know there are many people we need to thank. Greg Chorvas Superintendent, Marc Malgieri Assistant Superintendent, and Samantha Wamsley Secretary :thank you for all you do behind the scenes to make everything happen at Cantine and for making it as amazing as it is. Joe Dittus Field Manager and Robbie Trincelitto Assistant Field Manager, thank you for all you do for the fields! Thank you to Greg, Marc, Samantha, Joe, and Robbie for answering hundreds of emails throughout the year, multiple revisions of the schedules, and everything else you all do and deal with. Thank you to the best damn field crew field crew we could ask for Joe Dittus, Rob Trincelitto, Pat Maloney, Zach Belfance, Matthew Belfance, Gillian Mills, Dylan McCaig, Jared McCaig, Myles Gordon, Austin Buley, Anthony Bertorelli, and Anders Forest. You all go above and beyond for the fields and everyone sees how much you love and care about each field. To all of the other Cantine Staff that make it the amazing place it is thank you! This video doesn’t do the field justice, but after being on the road the last two weeks I had to film it when we returned from regionals. Thank you again to everyone at Cantine for making it such a special place and the home of the 2026 New York State American Legion Baseball Champs!

2026 New York State Champions. One team one family.
🏆⚾ THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 NEW YORK STATE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL SEASON ⚾🏆
The 2026 New York State American Legion Baseball season was officially brought to an end yesterday when our Senior and Junior State Champions finished their campaigns in the respective Regional Tournaments.
The American Legion Baseball season in New York was nothing short of remarkable.
🇺🇸 2026 NYS SEASON RECAP
⚾ 6 Active Districts
⚾ 50+ Teams Across New York State
🏆 Senior State Champion
Kingston/Saugerties Posts 150/72
🏆 Junior State Champion
Liquid Prime — Hiscock-Fishbaugh American Legion Post 788
🏆 Prep State Champion
Utica Post 229
Hundreds of players, coaches, families, Legionnaires, volunteers and communities all contributed to making the 2026 season possible, from the very first game of the regular season through to the district tournaments, state championships and regional competition.
But we’re not stopping here.
Talk regarding the 2027 season has already started – and further teams are considering joining.
Our aim extends beyond adding teams; we would like to strengthen the existing districts, rekindle baseball in areas of the state where Legion Baseball has disappeared, expand opportunities for Junior and Prep players, and establish a sustainable statewide program for future generations of New York ballplayers.
Would you like to be involved in 2027?
If you are a coach looking for a home for your team, if your American Legion Post would like to sponsor baseball, or if you are interested in helping to start or develop American Legion Baseball in your district, then get in touch with us.
Let’s build on 2026.
More teams, more districts, and more opportunities—leading to a stronger New York State American Legion Baseball program. 🇺🇸⚾
In 2027, the work will now begin. Learn more at https://www.nylegionbaseball.com/
And just like that, our 2026 season comes to an end. 💙⚾️
Kingston-Saugerties battled until the very last out today, falling 4-3 to GP Sr. American Legion in our final game of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.
KS outhit GP 9-7, with Jackson Barcone leading the way at the plate, going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Jake Young gave us six strong innings on the mound, allowing just one earned run while striking out six.
Of course, this isn’t the ending we hoped for — but there is absolutely nothing for this group to hang their heads about.
They are NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONS. 🏆🗽
And that is something no final score can ever take away.
What a season. What a run. And most importantly, what a group of young men.
Somewhere along the way, this became about so much more than baseball. The practices. The laughs. The interviews and bloopers. The big hits and even bigger celebrations. The dog-piles. The tough losses. The comeback wins. The championship. And every single memory made along the way.
And when we say family, we mean everyone.
Our players. Our coaches. Our parents and families. Our alumni. Our sponsors. Our Legion family. And every single person who watched, shared, commented, traveled, donated, cheered us on, or followed this team from home. You are part of this family, too.
We are thankful. We are proud. And we are so incredibly grateful for the memories this season gave us.
This team will forever be able to say that in the summer of 2026, they brought a New York State Championship home to Kingston-Saugerties. 💙🏆
The season may be over, but this family doesn’t end here.
ONE TEAM. ONE FAMILY. 💙⚾️
Forever our 2026 New York State Champions. 🗽🏆💙
A little late on the post, but these messages were too special not to share! 💙⚾️
Before our Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament began, our guys received some words of encouragement from two former Kingston-Saugerties players who have gone on to do some pretty incredible things in the game!
🍌🎙️ Biko Skalla — former Saugerties Legion player and current Savannah Bananas announcer — sent the boys a special message wishing them luck on their tournament run. Thank you, Biko, for taking the time to support KS!
⚾️ Ethan “Big E” Conrad — former Kingston-Saugerties player and first-round MLB Draft pick — also sent the guys a message before they took the field. Thank you, Big E, for always showing love to the program!
No matter where the game takes you, the KS Family runs deep. 💙
Once KS, always KS. ⚾️

🎉⚾️ HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY, COACH FABS! ⚾️🎉
Help us wish Coach Nick “Fabs” Fabiano a VERY happy 30th birthday! 💙
Coach Fabs brings years of experience to the KS dugout — and his Legion roots run deep. Before becoming a coach, Fabs was a Saugerties Legion player himself, making it pretty special to now have him back in the dugout coaching the next generation.
Fabs currently serves as the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Catskill High School, where he is also a Physical Education teacher. Before joining Kingston-Saugerties, he spent three years running Coxsackie Post 166 and helping grow its Legion program.
And if you’ve been following along on our Mid-Atlantic Regional run, you’ve probably also seen Coach Fabs take on another role… KS Sports Broadcaster. 🎤😂 His player interviews — and that signature broadcasting voice — have quickly become a fan favorite!
From former Legion player, to coach, to interviewer extraordinaire, we’re lucky to have Fabs as part of the KS Family.
Happy 30th Birthday, Coach Fabs! Thanks for all you do. Nick Fabiano
🎥⚾️ PART 3/3 — MEET THE GUYS! 💙
The third and FINAL part of our player interview series is here! Finishing it off with:
⚾️ Jackson Huber — Upcoming Red Hook Senior
⚾️ Robert Paschal — Red Hook Graduate
⚾️ Dylan MacDonald — Red Hook Graduate | St. Thomas Aquinas Commit
⚾️ Landon VanGaasbeck — Kingston Graduate
That officially wraps up all three parts and our chance to introduce you to the guys behind this incredible run. 💙⚾️
Now, it’s time to get back to work.
Kingston-Saugerties is preparing for our 1:00 PM matchup against Pennsylvania at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament!
NEW YORK OR NOWHERE. 🗽
LET’S GO KS!!! 💙⚾️

Kingston-Saugerties fell 11-0 to Whitehouse Post 284 in our second matchup of the Mid-Atlantic Regional.
Jake Young and Kaden Deibert each recorded a hit for KS, while Preston Provenzano and Keegan Hughes battled on the mound against a strong Whitehouse lineup, and Jackson Barcone came to record the last couple outs.
This team has responded to adversity all season long, and tomorrow is another opportunity to do exactly that. We’ll be back on the field, ready to compete.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our boys—whether you’re in the stands or cheering from home. We appreciate every one of you.
See you tomorrow. One pitch at a time. Let’s go, KS! 💙⚾️
