SSN - Ghost Pirates

Former Savannah Ghost Pirate (sort of), Bryan Yoon, has signed with MoDo Hockey for the 2026-2027 season.

Bryan signed with the Ghost Pirates ahead of the 2025-2026 season but never played a game for Savannah after being signed to a PTO and then AHL contract by the Colorado Eagles.

This will be Bryan’s first stint in Europe after playing for Hartford (AHL), Utah (ECHL) and Colorado (AHL) over the last three seasons.

We see people all the time saying "who watches ECHL hockey anyways?"

Well... The answer is A LOT of people. The ECHL had the 8th best attendance of any men’s hockey league in the world this season and averaged over 5,000 fans per game!

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) would be second on this list behind only the NHL after averaging 9,304 fans per game this season!

Ghost Pirates F Liam Walsh is starting ProMentorMe (https://promentorme.com/) to provide young athletes with a mentor, guide and friend that has navigated difficult situations as a student-athlete before!

He’s teaming up with Savannah F Ryan Sullivan, former Savannah G Michael Bullion, two other ECHL athletes (Jonny MacDonald and Carter Korpi) as well as Minnesota Frost (PWHL) F Peyton Anderson!

Liam Walsh Aims To Build More Than Players Through ProMentorMe The ECHL’s Liam Walsh is bridging the experience gap, pairing youth athletes with professional stars to navigate the complex road from equipment choices to career-defining tryouts.

The ECHL has released the 2025-2026 Protected Lists from each team. Savannah has protected 23 players.

Teams are permitted to protect as many players as they wish, provided those players meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association.

A team retains the rights to players who:

- Signed a Standard Player Contract (SPC) with the club during the 2025–26 season and have not been traded or released;

-Signed an SPC during the 2025–26 season and were subsequently recalled to an NHL, AHL, or IIHF team and have not been traded or released;

-Received a Qualifying Offer prior to the 2025–26 season, did not sign an SPC, and have not been traded or released;
Have been suspended by the team or league and have not been traded or released;

-Signed an SPC on or after the first day of the 2025–26 regular season and subsequently signed an NHL or AHL contract, provided they have not been traded or released; or

-Executed an ECHL Retirement Form and have not been traded or released.

Cooper Black has re-signed with the Florida Panthers! It’s a two-way deal that keeps him in the organization through the 2027-2028 season.

Former Ghost Pirates F Pat Guay is joining his brother in the EIHL as they’ll both play for the Belfast Giants in 2026-2027.
