People with bipolar disorder - also called manic depression - face unique challenges throughout their lives. Take some time today to reflect on what you have overcome and be proud of yourself.
IBPF and Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher (1956-2016) are proud of each and every person who continues to face the adversity that comes with a bipolar diagnosis. You are strong! 💚💪

Wishing you a peaceful and gentle holiday season. 💙
Not everyone feels festive during the holidays, and that’s okay.
The change in routines, social pressures, and expectations can be challenging, especially for those of us navigating bipolar disorder.
This season, remember to honor your needs, set boundaries, and embrace moments of rest. It’s okay to not feel ‘on.’
We’re here to remind you: your well-being matters, and you’re not alone.
How do you navigate this time of year? Let us know if you’d like to share or connect.

This image speaks volumes about the struggles we sometimes face in silence. Society often encourages us to always show our "best selves," but true strength comes from being vulnerable with the right people—friends, family, partners, or a therapist, coach... Having a reliable support system is essential to navigate life's challenges.
If you're lucky enough to have someone who truly listens, cherish them. And if you're someone who listens, thank you for being a lifeline for someone in need. 💛
Let’s normalize checking in with each other and creating spaces where we can all be honest about how we’re really doing. A simple "How are you?" with the willingness to truly listen can make all the difference.

Being manic doesn’t mean happy—it means something is deeply wrong in your brain. You’re disconnected from reality in a way that can lead to hurting yourself and others. During mania, the idea that you could harm anyone feels incomprehensible—after all, you feel ecstatic and invincible. But trust me, you do. The painful realization often comes when the episode ends, and you ‘wake up’ to the damage caused. Andy Dunn describes it perfectly in Burn Rate: it’s like waking up from a dream, except for everyone else, it wasn’t a dream—it was real. The shame, the guilt, the financial turmoil, and the lost relationships linger as painful reminders.
This is a terrible condition, and being ‘up’ is not the good thing it might seem to be.
An excessively “high,” overly good, euphoric mood is symptom of mania. However, it is not always present and a manic episode also requires other symptoms. Mania is complex!

Living with bipolar isn't about being broken—it's about harnessing the incredible energy, creativity, and depth that come with it. Every challenge, every high, every low we live through, is part of the chaos within that has the potential to create something extraordinary. 💡✨
As Nietzsche said:
"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star."
At Bipolar and Powerful, we believe in embracing that inner chaos—not to fight it, but to transform it. To rediscover dreams, rebuild purpose, and thrive again. 🌈💪
What’s your next dancing star? Let’s bring it to life together.

¿Cuál es tu próxima estrella danzante? Hagámosla realidad juntos.
