Red light therapy improves mood, skin health, and aids weight loss. A trifecta when it comes to compounding those 2022 goals you set in the beginning of this month...
What's effective at helping you trim your waist and improve overall energy?
It's not a restrictive diet, as our society would make you believe. It's TIMING.
For beginners, we recommend sticking to a consistent daily routine, waking and sleeping within the same windows of the day. Our bodies are designed to activate from sleep when the sun rises, and release melatonin when the sun sets to wind down. For nutrition, eating at 3 hour intervals will jumpstart that metabolism again - with a balanced meal (fat, protein, carb) and veggies at every meal. WHAT you choose to eat is not as important as WHEN you eat within this beginning stage so long as your plate is portioned.
The reason for this is to re-activate and regulate metabolism, but most importantly regulate blood sugar levels throughout the day. Drops in blood sugar (like not starving yourself) will make you groggy, fatigued, and less energetic.
After you get comfortable with your new routine, incorporate hormetic stressors, such as infrared sauna or cold water therapy. Both (heat for infrared sauna and cold for cold thermogenesis) causes the body to overcompensate for mild environmental stresses, activating the burning of fat to regulate body temperature. The beneficial effects of mild stress for aging and longevity have been studied for many years!
Once you're a pro and you've got your routine and daily practices down, incorporating fasting within your diet is ideal for optimal fat burning. This practice goes back to our ancestral and primal body functions, something we actually haven't yet evolved from such as famines, hunts, and fasts. As our technology and lifestyle advance, we forget that our body's evolution follows at a much, MUCH slower pace.
