75 Hard Recap

Physically, the goal this time around was to maintain. I didn’t shift much in weight but the extra output for sure helped me lean out. The last week was draining and I’m looking forward to a true rest day.

Mentally, I had the most adversity in my personal I’ve experienced during 75 Hard. Some days it would have been nice to just rest. I’ll spare the details but it felt amazing getting back into a strict regimen. Stacking these daily wins built momentum and allowed me to push through the test days.

Spiritually, I got much closer to God this time around. The books I read were faith based self development, along with daily Bible reading. Diving into the word when you feel like you’re having trouble hearing from God is the answer. God is the word, and Jesus Christ is God. You literally have Jesus at your fingertips, never forget that.

Overall, I love how this program pushes me in all these areas. My plan going forward is to stay locked in, with a couple cheat meals here and there. Stay tuned for 10k calorie day.

Why am I doing this? To keep my mentality sharp.

Just like a muscle, it needs to be worked constantly in order to grow and remain strong.

For the last few years I’ve dedicated at least 75 days to this program and being completely dialed in.

It’s done a lot for me mentally, and as a byproduct I’ve also grown physically.

This not a fitness program. This is a mental toughness program. And if your mindset is your greatest asset, you’re telling me you can’t dedicate less than 25% of your year working on that?

Something to think about.

2/18 NOTHING LESS THAN GODS BEST

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Why would you question the power and ability of God. Nothing is too hard for my God

1. DON’T SETTLE - God has set the bar high for your life. It is not your job to lower it. ā€œWe should not grow weary in well doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest, not giving upā€ - Galatians 6:9. It’s hard in the ā€œdue timeā€ not to settle. We become impatient but in due time we will receive blessings. On the flip side, there is a price to pay when we settle.

2. DON’T COMPROMISE - the waiting period, the ā€œdue timeā€ will tempt you to compromise Gods plan for your life. You might lower your dream, your hope, your expectations when you compromise. You’re discounting and watering down Gods promise. If God needs your help doing his miracle, what kind of miracle would that be? We settle because we don’t think we don’t think we can do any better, we believe God doesn’t have any better.

3. DON’T LOSE HOPE - Gods best is coming, and Gods best will come ON TIME. Hebrews 11:1

I’ve heard every excuse…

Most of them I’ve told myself.

Some are valid, some are lame.

But the fact about every excuse is this.

They never got anyone anywhere.

They cannot be trusted.

Instead, I lean on discipline and ask myself is this moving me toward my goals.

Makes things simple. Better awareness = better habits = better results.

3 things that helped me grow my legs

1. Hit legs twice a week. A great way to split it up is to do glutes/hams on day 1 and quads/calves on day 2
2. Hiking. I do this for cardio. I’m fortunate to have some great hiking trails close to home with solid elevation gain. A great substitute is stair master, keep your hands of the rails and drive with your legs. I also recommend biking if that is more enjoyable for you.
3. This one I’m sure you’ve heard before. And it’s probably the reason your legs are still not growing. Don’t skip leg day! This is very easy to do because you’ll be sore, and it’ll be hard to simply sit on the toilet. But eventually you’ll work past this. Remember, consistency wins.

Lastly, make sure you’re fueling your body properly and recover appropriately. If these things aren’t in check it can inhibit your gains. Stay focused, stay dialed, and grow 😤

Continue at all costs. Persistency sits at the threshold of mastery. The things that feel hardest are also the ones that are most valuable.
