Pretty simple looking motion for Tiger Woods.
There are so many golfers playing the game that would like to be more consistent and hit the ball farther. Is their swing more upright than this or flatter than this? Is it even important?

How to practice effectively ... for just about anything:
Mike & Sandy 2017 Movie 2
Here is a video Sandy and I did for the members of The Roaring Fork Club. There are only 3 wrist positions, and they have an affect on your ability to control the golf ball.....cupped, bowed or flat and in line with the lead arm. Is your lead wrist in a good position?
It's coming along...
I am just floored by how much there is to learn in this game of golf and in life itself.
I just spent a couple of hours in my favorite spot, alone and with no distractions. Yes, I'm working right handed today, but both right and left handed are enlightening right now. As an instructor, the desire to learn and acquire more knowledge, has been rewarding at times and damaging at times. Wouldn't you like to ask Tiger about that?
It is becoming clearer to me every day, week and month how I went from playing in occasional tour events to totally losing my game and desire to play. It is just so deflating to have no answers, either from your own knowledge base or someone else's. I know of other professionals and good players that lost it too.
I had to press the RESET button about 4 years ago. You can imagine how desperate you have to be to press that button. π
It is fun again! There is a whole new style of learning going on too. I am amazed how much my thoughts have changed in the last few years, both in the information AND how it's delivered.
If you have gotten lost like me, hang in there. The answers are out there.
Here is another interesting question:
Suppose I was one of 10 men and women beginning to learn to play. Me left handed and the others whatever is natural for them. We are all basically the same age, in similar shape and all have some hand-eye sports background. We all have the same amount of time to play and practice.
What advantages do I have, going in, to far surpass what they do and enjoy the game more?
This is when you know you are working on the right stuff!
1. The ball flight is immediately better. For an amateur slicer, that means a more powerful draw.
2. The swing feels better and easily repeatable. It doesn't feel like you need perfect timing to hit good shots. And finally, for me...
3. There are only 3 people that have seen my swing every year and through good and bad since the early 80's....Sandy, Jack Lumpkin and an amateur friend of mine whose opinion I respect greatly. He has been a very good player, been around many tour winners and used to be roommates with John Schlee. For those that don't know that name, he is the guy that was in position to win the US Open had Johnny Miller not shot 63 the final round at Oakmont. Anyway, I sent these two swings to my amateur friend and he calls me. He says, "wow, you haven't looked like this in a long time. Your posture is better, your left leg is posting better instead of sliding, your left arm is straighter, there is more zip relative to the effort and it's wider with no slack." I said, "good, I'm not working on any of that!"

Most golfers have never even tried this from 20ft off the green. Most golfers have never considered it from that far out. Most golfers could take a number of shots off their hcp if they did. Fact.
