10-14-25. Our annual Dave & Mike birthday meal at IHOP. This year's was a bit late, so... happy birthday to all you September AND October babies!

Today (Sept 5) is the ten year anniversary of our last event ever... the 2015 Fall Singles Fair & Ball. (Photo from that night below). Today I visited the Doubletree, and discovered that entire side of the facility is under construction. So... I wandered down to Rattler's and took some photos there. It was bittersweet. I miss all of you!

This weekend is exactly ten years since our last dance... which was at the Crowne Plaza at 2532 W Peoria Ave. Now? That building is the 'New Freedom Recovery Church'. I did NOT go inside. Gosh, lots has changed in ten years...

Peoria Pines Country Club. Enter, then head up the stairs to the dance, which overlooked the golf course. Fun memory: The time we were setting up and a bride came running in asking if anyone could marry them... because her minister had backed out. I went out to their lakeside alter, performed the ceremony, came back in, and finished setting up... all before y'all got there. Wonder how THAT couple is doing? 🤓

This week, a throwback using a 2015 photo. Boy, we had many a fun party there. A full-wall-length bar, disco lights above the dance floor, a second room perfect for speed dating. It's now the parking lot for a Panera Bread. Is this progress? 😕

Howdy, y'all. Well... hate to start the year this way, but just heard from Sherry that Harry passed away 12/10/24. My resolution for 2025 is to hug everyone twice... because we never know. 😕

As y'all know, my birthday is 9/11. Did you know Mike's is exactly two weeks later on 9/25? Every year, in between those two dates, we meet for lunch. Happy Birthday to all you September babies out there!
