4 amazing miles to kick off this FEEL GOOD FRIDAY 🙌🏻🤩 Hope everyone an amazing day!
3 fast miles and 1 cool down mile this morning...set out for 3 easy miles, but the competitive side in me made me push extra hard when I rounded a corner at the first half mile and found myself running on the opposite side of the street as a group of runners...so I clearly had to be faster than them 🤨 turns out they were pretty freakin fast. I thought i’ll be turning in a half mile so all I have to do is beat them there and then I could slow down again...but then of course...they turned too! 😱 so I couldn’t slow down now and show them I was only running fast to beat them...so I kept it up and ended up doing 3 miles at a 6:37 pace! 🤪🤣 the cool down walk/run was nice afterwards lol!
He can’t go for runs with me anymore, but this old fluffy dog and I have been loving our morning walks before the sun comes up 🥰 🐶 I LOVE YOU LEO! (As if he’s going to read this...🤪)
Had an amazing 4 mile run this morning with a half mile cool down walk afterwards...felt good to get my blood flowing and a good sweat in!
4 Feel Good Recovery Run Miles Today! Been slacking on my rolling and stretching routine so my left IT band has been slightly glaring up from time to time...so this was much needed! Got great blood flow going while doing a slow run and rocking out and dancing to my music along the way. Then spent a lot of time stretching and rolling afterwards. NO MORE PAIN! 🙌🏻💪🏻💯

So I’ve had a lot of people ask me to video how I foam roll my inner thigh, because it can be a tricky position to get in and move in. Hopefully this video helps.

While braced prone on my elbows I lay one leg back and the other is flexed and out to the side opening my hips to the foam roller. I then shift my body side to side using my torso and legs to assist. I try to roll up as high as I can toward my groin (this always seems to be my problem area, so I spend more time there) then roll down my leg towards the inside of my knee, stopping in any trigger points along the way. I do that a few times on each side, then I always like to hop into a frog pose stretch and rock back and forth for about 30 seconds.
Found Some Bad Trigger Points On My Adductors That Have Been Contributing To My Hip Pain On Long Runs...
So I Decided To Do A Slow 3 Mile Run To Get Blood Flow Going And Then Really Beat Up My Legs With My Foam Roller And Massage Gun

After doing the I realized I could put more focused work on my lower abs. So I’ve been incorporating some of the challenges moves, as well as other like this...bench side knee ups 🔥
Try to throw 4 sets of 25 reps into your next ab routine!

Sit on the edge of a bench, or step
Try to stay as uptight as possible throughout the motion
Hold hands in the front or back behind the bench (whatever is comfortable)
Tuck your knees towards your chest while rounding your lower back and drawing your belly button towards your spine to draw the abs in and engage your TA and lower abs
Then extend your leg back down to the ground at a 45 degree angle and touch your heels to the ground
Repeat 💪🏻🙌🏻

Overall I really enjoyed this challenge, it held me accountable and opened my eyes to some weaknesses I had (notice I said had) in my lower abs. It really helped me strengthen my core in areas I had neglected and had fallen into the same old weekly routine. I am glad it is done, but I will definitely start including these moves more in my normal programs now though!

Got an awesome 6 mile run in this morning! Set out for 3-4 but took advantage of the amazing 75 degree weather and just kept running 🏃🏻
Day 20 and 21 in the books...day 22 is today, so I’ll post that later after I do it 😅 still feeling great about it and the results! I’ve switched things up a couple of times to make it more interesting (got bored a bit 😕) and ran through each phase 4 times in a row before moving on to the next (ps makes daddy Shark...”full v up” very difficult by round 4 lol) but either way it’s been a fun activity to do each day 🙌🏻
Last 4 days of the running through the workouts 4x in a row now and it is AWESOMELY TOUGH! 😅🤨

Running note: a lacrosse ball on my glutes and this pigeon pose/thread the needle combo have been game changers in my injury prevention. I do them every day before and after I workout and I have been injury free for almost 3 years now!
Day 17 yesterday for the which means today I start running through it 4 times 😳🔥 ...going to be rough, but I look forward to 💪🏻
