The Guinness World Records for most pull-ups in 24 hours is 7,715. Yesterday In our mini challenge I was able to complete 2,863 reps in 6 hours , happy with my progress and I’m excited for my opportunity to break this record on September 25th ! GymAware allows you to account for the variable nature of the human nervous system in all aspects of training.

Velocity Based Training is an alternative to percentage-based training and is a great way to auto-regulate training load each day. The nervous system is never constant so relying solely on 1RM percentages determined weeks or months prior doesn’t account for the daily variation of the nervous system.

For example, perhaps you were scheduled to perform a 5x5 set of squats at 80% of your 1RM but you’re completely exhausted and you’re incapable of squatting that load today and doing so would put you at greater risk of injury or maybe you’ve gotten much stronger since establishing your 1RM and you could handle a heavier load for your 5x5 set today.

Velocity Based Training allows us to remove this guesswork and train with precision...allowing the nervous system to be the guide.

Instead of just using percentages, uses bar or movement speed to determine what load should be used each day, when you should conclude a set and what your true 1RM is on each individual day. The velocity of the movement then dictates what physical trait is being developed.
