Feeling an overwhelming amount of gratitude for each and every one of my babes who couldn’t wait to get back in my chair. 🥺 To be honest I didn’t think anyone would want to come back after I was gone for so long. One of my sweethearts said to me “yeah I found a girl when you were on hiatus, and she did great! But she’s not you!” You better believe I sat in my car and cried for a little bit after she said that. You all are the best and I love you. That is all. 💕

10 years ago, I enrolled in cosmetology school. On my first day, our director of education welcomed the new class with a speech that I’ve never forgotten. She said if anyone thought that doing hair was “just going to be fun, and would just get to hang out with friends and play with hair”, to walk over to financial aid and get your money back. This wasn’t something that was going to be easy, so if that’s what anyone thought going into this they absolutely wouldn’t last more than a year or two in this industry. She said, “in fact, there’s about 200 of you here and I can guarantee only 10 or less of you will be standing behind the chair 10 years from now”. She wasn’t wrong. I’m proud to say I’m one of just a few that is still doin’ the damn thing.. after a hell of a lot of blood, sweat and literal tears. This industry has given me the best and craziest ride of my life and I can’t wait to experience what has yet to come. Bring on the next 10 years and many, many more. ✨
