3 month postpartum update✨

It’s so hard to believe it’s been 3 months (and a day 😉) since Grayson was born. It’s feels like he’s been in our lives forever, but it also feels like he was born yesterday.

My body is feeling really, really good. This time around I really took the time to heal and restrengthen my core and pelvic floor. I am getting back into my regular workout routine and doing all the lifts that I love. I am looking forward to building more strength and adding in some impact training!

I stopped breastfeeding last week. I had stopped sooner than I had planned, and that’s ok! It felt harder on my mental health this time around, so instead of torturing myself to keep going I made the decision to stop! Grayson is happy as can be and I feel like I can be a better mom to both my kids this way💕

Having 2 kids is definitely busy. I feel like our schedule is constantly a puzzle and we’re always trying to fit the pieces together. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Thank you for coming in this journey with me!

Should you quit?

People are like a Rubik’s cube. While training training and nutrition is a science, COACHING training and nutrition is a mix of science and art. It takes a bit of twisting and turning to get the colors to line up just right.

Even if you’re not working with a coach - a good practice to get in when you get frustrated or want to quit at something, is to pause and check in with yourself.

What do I really need right now?

Do I want to quit or am I overwhelmed (confused, feeling unheard, uncomfortable, etc)?

How will I feel tomorrow, next week, or 3 months from now if I quit?

Very rarely does someone want to actually quit working out, eating healthier, etc.

Your “I can’t do this anymore” feelings are usually trying to express a need for help without knowing how to ask for it.

So next time you’re feeling like you want to quit, pause and ask yourself the above questions and see what it is you really need.

When was the last time you wanted to quit something but didn’t? How did that turn out?

Happy International Women’s Day💕

Here's to strong women.
May we know them.
May we raise them.
May we be them.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, so I’m just going to say it 💬

We need to stop negotiating for junk food aka. sweets, soft drinks, desserts, cookies, wine, burgers, etc. with exercise.

You don't have to do anything to eat and drink whatever you want.

Stop punishing yourself with physical activity after eating something….whatever it is.

Enjoy the foods and drinks you eat and feel good about them in the moment.

Enjoy going for coffee or a few cocktails with friends.

Food is a positive thing, especially when it involves bringing us closer together and forming human connection.

Physical activity is not a punishment.

Physical activity is done because you
feel good about it, because it is fun and good for your long-term health.

Eating what we want and also exercising are two POSITIVE things we do because we feel good about it in one way or another.

One doesn't have to be conditional on the other and neither should be a reward or punishment for the other.

Exercise because you feel good about it.

Treat yourself and enjoy food because you feel good about it.

Stop the self-abuse, negative self-talk, and self-inflicted punishment.

Be physically active, enjoy the foods you love often, and do what you feel good about.

What are your thoughts on this? 💭

We had a blast celebrating @scottsdalecombine’s 20th anniversary last night 🥂🎉

Scottsdale School of Fitness is my second home! When I started working here almost 8 years ago, I was 23, had no clue what I was doing, Nick was just my boyfriend and was going through a quarter life crisis. Now, I am a damn good trainer, married to Nick with 2 little kids and am confident with where I am at in life.

Thank you to Rob for giving me a chance 7 years ago. I would not be where I am in my fitness career without you! It is an honor and privilege it is to train my clients at the most beautiful training facility in Arizona💪🏻

Cheers to 20 more 🥂

Today marks 1 month postpartum and The newborn fog is clearing up🎉

(Newborn fog…ifkyk)

To be honest, I completely forgot how HARD that first month is. Maybe it felt harder this time because I have Savannah too and I can’t just rest all day😅 Between exclusively breastfeeding, little sleep, the holidays and everything else, the past month really has gone by fast and is a blur!

Although I now have 2 little to take care of, I am still putting focus into recovering and rehabbing my body from pregnancy, labor and delivery. I’ve been working on reconnecting my core and pelvic floor and getting movement in by walking. (I’ll post more about this later😉)

Grayson is doing really well. He is now giving us a longer stretch of sleep at night (hallelujah 🙌🏼). He is starting to interact with us and is giving some sweet smiles 😁

I am looking forward to going back to work in a month, but until then I’ll be soaking up all the newborn snuggles 🥰

This is my current situation and I wouldn’t have it any other way🥰

So far, Savannah is adjusting well to baby brother Grayson. We are trying to give her a little extra attention and hugs.

She really likes to help, so I try to give her a task to do when I’m tending to baby. One of her favorite things to is help me burp him. She’ll pat him on the back. Then she wants me to burp her, and she does a fake burp. It’s so cute 😂

How did your toddler adjust to new sibling? Any tips for me?

Happy 2nd Birthday to our baby girl Savannah🎂🎉

She loves to run, jump and dance 💃🏼
Peppa Pig and Baby Shark are her favs🐷🦈
Her favorite foods are “can-cakes” “nanas” and “crack-cracks” 🥞🍌
She still loves waving at airplanes and helicopters 🚁 ✈️
She’s talking up a storm and learning new words and sentences every day 🗯
She loves going to school and her grandparents houses 🏘 🏫

Savannah is the most amazing special little girl, and has brought so much sunshine to our lives the past 2 years ☀️

We love you Savvy🥰

39 weeks ✨

Aaaaaaany day now! The last week of pregnancy feels like forever!

Instead of sitting around and waiting for baby, I’m keeping myself busy and active!

Here are a few things I am doing the week to stop myself from going insane 🙃

✨Lots and lots of walking. Walking can help move baby down into the pelvis thanks to gravity and swaying of the hips

✨ Core/breathing/pelvic floor work 🧘‍♀️

✨Ob appointment Tuesday

✨Acupuncture appointment Tuesday.

✨Savannah’s birthday is Tuesday 🎂💕

✨I’m still training a handful of in-person personal training clients💪🏻

✨Let’s be real, Savannah will occupy whatever other free time I have!

What did you do your last week of pregnancy to occupy your time?

Today we celebrated our baby girl’s 2nd birthday (a little early!) and she had a blast 🎉💕

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us! Our girl is so special and loved🥰

Let’s have a little chat about weight gain during pregnancy 💬

Gaining weight is normal and healthy during pregnancy. The average woman gains 25-35lbs, and some women gain more or less and are perfectly healthy. Most of the weight does come from the baby, increased fluid, blood volume, ect!

When I was pregnant with Savannah, I was terrified of gaining weight at first. I trained specifically for aesthetics and keep constant watch on my bodyweight. Not going to lie, it was hard to see the scale go up 15lbs just in the first trimester. Around 15 weeks, I made the decision to not look at the scale for the remainder of my pregnancy, and I felt so much better about my body changing. During this pregnancy, I do look at the scale when the doc weighs me, but it doesn’t make me feel any type of way because I know my body is going to do what it’s going to do! AND it’s healthy!

If you’re pregnant and terrified of seeing the scale go up, I’m going to share a few tips with you💕

🤰Shift your perspective. Your body is growing a literal human. A HUMAN!

🤰Focus on your health and eating food that nourishes your body and makes you feel good!

🤰Invest in some clothes that you feel good in. In my first pregnancy, I didn’t buy any maternity leggings and I was freaking miserable. Everything felt tight and made me feel gross. This time around I wear maternity leggings and feel sooooo much better!

🤰Move your body. Studies has proven that exercise is extremely beneficial for both mom and baby. It will also make you feel so much better!

I hope these tips help. I know what it’s like, I’ve been there. I want you to know that you are SO MUCH MORE than that number on the scale💕
