💙34 weeks💙

And a day 😉

Baby is currently the size of a butternut squash. He is getting chunkier and bigger each and every day, which I can definitely feel!

He is currently in a breech position (head up). He’s still got some time to turn, but I’m trying to help him with some different stretches and movements.

Tomorrow I am seeing a doctor who practices Traditional Chinese Medicine to get acupuncture and Moxibustion, to help him turn. Wish me luck 🤞🏼

Overall, my body is feeling really good. I am able to keep up with my lifting routine and plan on continuing, while making the appropriate modifications.

Eating has been a little bit of a challenge. Baby is getting bigger and pressing in my stomach. Same thing happened with Savannah. I’ve been eating a lot of Greek yogurt, green juice, bone broth and soups to keep up with nutrition.

With less than 6 weeks left, I am considering this my home stretch!

Soo is it safe to exercise during pregnancy?

The answer is generally YES 👍🏻💪🏻

Here are a couple things to know:

1️⃣ Strength training during pregnancy is safe, as long as you’re cleared by your medical team. Make sure to modify your training program and your pregnancy progresses. Don’t forget to enjoy it and have fun!

2️⃣ The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that pregnant women get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week, spread over 3+ days. Having a consistent training routine has so many incredible benefits. It can reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, urinary incontinence, low back pain and can speed up your postpartum recovery time 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

3️⃣ Can you start strength training during pregnancy if you never have before? YES!! Start with low intensity and load, and build your way up to something more moderate.

While your training during pregnant, if something feels *off* it’s best to scale back the exercise. If the symptoms don’t improve, it would be best to speak to your medical team to find a solution so you can continue to move 💃🏼

Third trimester feels💫

I can confirm… your second pregnancy goes by much faster than your first!

When I was pregnant with Savannah, it went by so slow. All I thought about all day long was being pregnant and how excited I was to meet baby girl. This time around, I’m just so much busier. Between chasing around a toddler, training clients, teaching fitness classes and just life, my days and weeks are just flying by!

Sometimes I feel guilty because I am not savoring this pregnancy as much. But I also give myself a lot of grace because this is real life!

Taking these maternity pictures have given me the opportunity to slow down a bit and celebrate my second pregnancy and our soon to be baby boy 💙

HAPPY MONDAY!

Here’s why I like Monday. It’s a fresh start to a new week full of possibilities. It’s a chance to do something good and exciting!

There’s a whole week of adventure ahead, a chance to shine and another opportunity to take your game, whatever that may be, to the next level⬆️

So why not think of Mondays as a new seven-day journey and look forward to it as a positive thing.

It’s entirely up to you🌟

Here’s a few things I’m looking forward to this week:
1️⃣ Mama Fit series starts today at @modernmilk 💪🏻 I am SO excited to sweat with all the mamas!
2️⃣ I have my gestational diabetes test this Wednesday and I am excited to get that over with. IYKYK😉
3️⃣ I have 3 lifting sessions and 3 peloton sessions in my calendar Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am excited to get stronger and healthier 💪🏻

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT📣

I am going to be leading a 6 week fitness series just for mamas at Modern Milk!

Here are all the details⬇️⬇️⬇️

Join us for our 6-Week Mama Fit + Core Series!

Mama Fit, led by Ashley Allen, a pre/postnatal certified fitness trainer, is a workout for all moms at all stages! This class will combine light weights with traditional and nontraditional workout moves to increase stamina and work towards your goals of a fit bump or body after baby. We will apply techniques that can relieve pregnancy pains, gain muscle, tone the body and get you ready for everything pregnancy and motherhood throws at you!

Mama Core, led by Dr. Kaitlyn Kakar, Physical Therapist and Pelvic Health Specialist, teaches you how to connect to your Core & Pelvic Floor through breath work, posture/alignment, and targeted strengthening and mobility exercises. Each class will be tailored to what your body needs that day. Whether you are pregnant or postpartum, this class is for you!

A six week series beginning October 4th - November 12th
Meet in-studio for 3 workouts per week (M/W/F)
Mama Fit Class on Mondays and Fridays @ 9:30a - 10:45a
Mama Core Class on Wednesdays @ 10:30a - 10:45a
You will also receive 6 weeks full access to our On-Demand Workouts and Mama Yoga Classes!
Babies and children of all ages are welcome! Please bring a mat/blanket and toys for your littles. You can also bring a structured baby carrier if you want to try a babywearing workout!

Feelin’ 22….

Weeks pregnant 🤰

Documentation of my 2nd pregnancy is wayyyy different than my 1st. I’m just so much busier and am trying hard to not feel guilty about it!

My body feels good. Like really good. I’ve been prioritizing stretching and mobility in my routine which has made a drastic difference.

I feel strong. Most of my workouts have been great. I’m still strength training 3 days a week and riding my peloton 3-4 days a week. I also put a lot focus on my core and pelvic floor.

Baby boy is doing great. We had the anatomy scan last week and he is developing and growing as he should. We are looking forward to his arrival in 4 months!

Do any other 2nd time moms also find it more difficult to document your 2nd pregnancy?? Tell me I’m not alone!!!! ☀️
