Daphne's HeadCovers
Animal headcovers for your golf bag. Carried by your favorite tour pros. Since 1978.
These are the original patterns for our animal headcovers.
Think of patterns like stencils. Jane couldn’t afford pattern paper when she started Daphne’s. So she got creative. She asked her neighbors to save their old newspapers for her. She would then turn the newspaper into patterns. Then use those patterns to cut the fur to make animal headcovers. These are some of the original patterns.

Our raccoon is the last headcover Daphne designed with Jane, our CEO and Daphne’s daughter, before she passed.
Daphne was diagnosed with a brain tumor when Jane was 31. It was terminal. Naturally, they began to spend every weekend together. They spent that summer feeding raccoons on the deck of Daphne’s cabin. They studied the trash pandas closely. While soaking in the moments they had together.
After that summer Daphne and Jane got back on the sewing machines and redesigned our raccoon. It’s had a few facelifts over the years. But the design still resembles what Daphne and Jane created after that summer.
Country clubs aren’t all-inclusive, members still have to pay for their uncrustables.
Here’s how it works.
Country clubs are businesses.
They earn money through dues, selling food and beverages, and merchandise.
The revenue the club earns goes back into the club - improving the operation.
The more a membership participates “spends” the more money the club has to improve their operation.
Most clubs run at break even. They allocate all earnings back to the club. If the club comes up short at the end of the year the members get a bill for christmas.
But the question is, would you rather buy your uncrustables with cash or your monthly dues?

How shooting chicken eggs at customers got us more business.
Here’s the story.
It’s 1982. Daphne had just made the first version of our chicken headcover and was unveiling it at the PGA tradeshow. But days before she lost her voice. Tradeshows are talking marathons so she had to get creative.
That’s when she remembered our chicken laid a breakfast ball. So she stood in the booth and shot the golf ball out of the chicken at customers as they walked by. Stunned they’d pick up the golf ball. As they’d get close to return it Daphne would be able to sell them with what little voice she had.
Our chicken has undergone many redesigns. But it always has and always will lay a breakfast ball.
Here’s what causes 5 hour rounds, and it’s not the group in front of you.
Loaded tee sheets.
Golf has gained 4M new golfers since 2019 while the supply of golf courses has stayed the same. While this is great for the industry, more golfers means slower rounds.
The all from one group rule.
If the golf course has a full tee sheet and the 7 am tee time takes 5 hours, that’s now the pace of play. It’s really hard for the course to gain that time back after it happens.
Single and twosome groups.
Single players and two-some groups amongst foursomes makes pace difficult for all parties involved. Because singles and twosomes naturally play faster
99% of the time it’s not the group in front of you.
