Want to improve your sn**ch?

Work from high point of contact and understand how to accelerate the bar with your legs.
Often, we see that people tend to “yank” the bar from the floor as if they are starting a lawnmower.

The secret to lift heavy weights is to be able to accelerate the bar with the legs (Hip extension).
Work from block to help you understand and assimilate where and how the bar must be accelerated. This is where all your power will be transferred to the bar.

Comment commencer l'exposition à l'eau froide ?
Commencez par votre do**he habituelle (tiède/chaude).

Bienfaits connus des do**hes froides

Standing shoulder to shoulder with elite competitors on the competition floor is closer than you might think.

Faster times, heavier lifts, a superior engine, smoother skill work, and the small details that tie them all together to produce performances that see you rocket up the leaderboard are within your reach.

But the methods, strategies, and tactics that will get you there are not what you will be expecting.

You see, the athletes who currently occupy the next level up from you didn’t do what they’re doing now to get there.

So the last thing you should be doing is looking to emulate their training methods.

You need to focus on training like the athlete who reaches the next level, not the athlete who is already there.

Crafted: Compete by is for the hungry competitor who wants a competitive edge.

FIRST SNATCHES IN 80 Days! I’M BACK AT IT & couldn’t be happier.🥳 Lifting felt like it was just yesterday.

Although my lifting goal of 90kg this year had to wait until next year due to the SC joint injury, this return to lifting after a break certainly felt almost as good today! There would still be time to chase tomorrow, but maybe in today's rise to 75kg, there will already be enough overtaking for one time 🙈 Let's pick up that 90 from Kulekma a little later in the spring.

We couldn't have said it better than 💪

So proud of Lauren’s performance this past week at the Legends Championship.

Right before the qualifier, she suffered a small strain in her bicep tendon which made us unsure if she should compete. We decided to take it one event at a time and pull the plug if necessary. Thankfully, she was able to complete all events and finished 21st. This left her on the outside of qualifying, but she was fortunate enough to receive a backfill spot.

Going into the championship, neither of us had expectations on the outcome. It was more an opportunity to see the work she’s put in over the last 8 months along with testing herself against some of the best women in the world in the 35-39 age category.

Additionally, it was an opportunity for her to challenge her self on being alone (I wasn’t there for it). This can be nerve racking for some, but can open the door to tremendous confidence and self-belief. To my delight, she did an amazing job and can now walk away more confident and capable.

There’s a lot more I could say, but that is enough for now. Congrats Lauren on your 14th place finish amongst some of the best in the world. Very impressive.

The best outcomes in life are first-order negative, second-order positive. There’s a short-term pain in the sacrifice you have to make, but a long-term gain in the value you create.

“Most of the time, we know what we need to do. The problem is because we don't immediately see the results, we stop…You have to be smart enough to know you're making progress without any obvious signs of progress.

Our Story

Established in 2008, the Big Dawgs built a storied history in coaching athletes in competitive functional fitness. We pioneered remote coaching in fitness by building a team of professional coaches who disrupted the typical online coaching systems. They deliver consistent, creative, evidence-based, and fully individualized online coaching programs to each of their clients.

What started as a training blog is today the strongest one-to-one remote coaching system for athletes around the world. A space for athletes to be coached in every aspect of their competitive fitness journey. A place for bodies and minds to seek and reach maximum potential. And a community of the finest fitness athletes around.

A beautiful part of a coaches' lifecycle is when they have earned the ability to transcend the system they were coaching in. We are excited to announce that OPEX Fitness will no longer offer individual remote coaching, the HQ coaches have now evolved into the Big Dawgs and our athletes are now part of The Pack.
