Story time....The other day I was driving to work and I went to switch lanes in order to be in the middle and pass the car in front of me. Well, for a split second I hesitated because there was a car on the outside lane and I thought it was going to move into the lane I wanted at the same time. Well, they didn’t, but for that split second that I hesitated, I was looking forward and the car in front of me hit brakes. Thankfully I stopped in plenty of time.
On a side note, for those that know me, know that I’m very intuitive, but this wasn’t an intuitive feeling, it was a hesitation! A hesitation that could’ve impacted me and others.
With that said, I began thinking, every time I’ve moved with intention I’ve always manifested exactly what my hearts desire was. When doctors told me I would never reheal my adrenals, well I did it! When people said I couldn’t fully reheal my diastasis recti, well I did that too!
I say all that to say, move with intention and you’ll manifest what you so desire!
It may be Friday the 13th...............

As a nutritionist, personal trainer, business owner, mom, wife, and so much more...I’m consistently on the GO! I’m always trying to manage my work/life balance and in my head it seems to go over very well, until ☝🏼 thing slips and it all comes crashing down.
It’s usually my sleep! Working on taking my business to the next level came with a slight price of a lack of sleep and that was NO good for my mental state. Like it says in the picture...sleep is necessary!
When I was on vacation, I can happily say I slept 9hrs every night...lol...didn’t workout, enjoyed the heck out of my food, had some drinks and allowed my body and mind the time to recover.
Remember...YOU ARE NECESSARY! Therefore, these items are necessary too! ☺️🙏🏼🙌🏼

Let’s discuss Alkalinity...
Alkaline foods must be consumed in order to provide nutrients the body needs to neutralize acids and toxins in the blood, lymph, tissues, and cells.
When pH balance inside the body is ‘out of balance’ the body tries to correct that sensitive pH balance. That process shows up as uncomfortable symptoms, including colds, flues, allergies, diseases, viruses, and bacteria.
When the pH level in our body is unbalanced, almost any area of the body can be affected. For example, when the nervous system is affected it shows up in the form of the depression. When the cardiovascular system is affected, we could have heart disease or experience other heart-related problems, including thickening and hardening of the arteries, stroke, high blood pressure, and heart failure. When muscles are affected, we often feel fatigue and lack of energy. When skin is affected we age quicker than normal.
When the body’s pH level is ‘in balance’, the body reaches ideal weight and corrects negative health challenges naturally! 😉💪🏼

Last but not least, eating fermented foods such as yogurt can help to keep your gut healthy, which actually in turn will help to improve your mental health and reduce stress levels.
The beneficial bacteria which are found in fermented foods such as yogurt actually have a direct effect on your brain chemistry and transmit positive mood and behavior regulating signals to your brain via the vagus nerve. 🤪😁

Along with helping to combat stress, leafy greens are full of nutrients and antioxidants which help to fight off disease and leave your body feeling healthier and more energized.
Dark leafy greens, for example spinach, are especially good for you since they are rich in folate, which helps your body to produce more mood-regulating neurotransmitters such as serotonin, which is a ‘feel-good’ chemical.

Studies have found that simply eating two small, snack-size portions of pistachios per day can lower vascular constriction when you are stressed, putting less pressure on your heart by further dilating your arteries.
Along with this, the rhythmic, repetitive act of shelling pistachios can actually be quite therapeutic! 😁

I absolutely love walnuts! I especially love to put them into my OATMEAL...😁
So, if you’re looking for a healthy snacking option which will help you to stay better in control of your stress levels, walnuts are a great choice.
There is no denying the sweet, pleasant flavor of walnuts and they can be a tasty snack for in-between meals or as part of a desert.
Walnuts are great for salads, or add them to a sweet treat such as coffee or walnut cake. 😋

I LLLLOOOOVVVVEEEE OATMEAL! Especially in the fall and winter!
Oatmeal is great in that it can be a filling comfort food, but also has a large number of healthy properties to actually make you feel better from the inside out.
It’s a complex carbohydrate and eating it causes your brain to produce higher levels of the feel-good chemical serotonin, helping you to feel calmer and less stressed.
Studies have shown that kids who choose oatmeal for breakfast tend to be much sharper throughout the morning in school compared to kids who had alternative morning meals.
Happy MONDAY to all my meat eaters...lol...you’d be happy to know that, Grass-fed beef is not only kinder to the planet and to animals, it’s also good for people, too.
Grass-fed beef has a huge range of antioxidants, including beta-carotene and Vit-amins C and E, which can help your body to fight stress and anxiety. If you’re looking for more reasons to spend a little more money on organic, grass-fed beef, it’s also lower in fat than grain-fed beef whilst being higher in omega-3.
However, for my plant-based eaters, chickpeas, quinoa, beans and lentils have a lot of the same affects as well. 😉💪🏼
WooHoo....Its Chocolate Day! 😍🤤
It’s crazy to me to see that chocolate is usually seen as an unhealthy treat when there is an undeniable link between chocolate and our mood.
Studies have shown that eating chocolate can actually make you happier!!! 😁💪🏼
However, that doesn’t mean that you can start munching on chocolate bars every time you're stressed out 🤣 – chocolate works best as a de-stressor when eaten in moderation and as part of a healthy and balanced diet/lifestyle.
Dark chocolate in particular is best for you, as it contains more flavonols and polyphenols, two hugely important antioxidants which can help combat stress, more than many fruit juices.
So, treat yourself to some chocolate this weekend! 😋

Of course, it’s not all about what you’re eating when it comes to managing stress; what you’re drinking can also alleviate or worsen the stress you're feeling. Drinking liquids which are high in sugars and caffeine, such as coffee, energy drinks or soda, can actually increase your stress levels if consumed regularly.
Chamomile tea has long been used as a natural bedtime soother, and it has also been used in clinical trials, which determined that chamomile tea is effective in reducing the symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder.
