Two strawweights with huge fan bases will battle at the Galaxy Arena in a huge week for Asian MMA.

Less than a week after his win at UFC 326, “The Tibetan Eagle” Sumudaerji has his next assignment.

He’ll fight American Alex Perez at UFC Macau on May 30th, per a UFC press release. Perez is ranked 10th in the UFC flyweight division, opening the door for Sumudaerji to re-enter the rankings.

UFC Macau is headlined by a bantamweight fight between Song Yadong and Deiveson Figueiredo.

The Road to UFC veteran took a unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) over the American Durden on the UFC 326 prelims, in an exciting grappling affair that saw Tumendemberel take the advantage in striking.

With the win, Nyamjargal rises to 2-1 in the UFC and 10-1 overall.

Using his range and takedowns, “The Tibetan Eagle” cruised to a win over Jesus Aguilar at UFC 326!

The judges scored the fight 30-27 for 🇨🇳Sumudaerji (19-7), who scores his third straight win.

Zhang Weili’s latest contribution to growing MMA in her home country started in her home town, and Born to Fight 01 is in the books.

Handan, Hebei province hosted the promotion’s debut on February 8th, with fifteen fights entertaining fans in the arena and watching on Migu.

The main event saw Road to UFC fighter Feng Xiaocan coming back to the winner’s circle with a second-round TKO over Marina Shutova. Hailed as a future great from China, Feng scored her first finish in over two years.

It was a rougher return to the cage for Daermisi Zhawupasi, who was choked unconscious in the first round by Tamerlan Medjidov. Daermisi has gone 1-3 since his last appearance on Road to UFC.

The rest of the card had a wealth of finishes, including spotlights for males in the heavier weight classes and two other fights with women- two features of Chinese MMA often lacking in other promotions.

Zhang Weili, the founder of BTF, was surely proud of the strong start for the new league.

The UFC Performance Institute in Shanghai held their seventh athlete combine this week to determine which fighters would get an invite to train at the facility over the next year.

Dozens of fighters went through the grinder of physical tests throughout the week, having their raw strength, cardiovascular capacity, and technical ability tested by the PI staff.

After days of evaluations, the staff convened to select 30 fighters into the seventh Academy.

There’s a lot of familiar faces- Road to UFC veterans Xie Bin, Agulali, D**g Huaxiang, Jiniushiyue, Ren Yawei, Sulangrangbo, Ti Haitao, and Zhang Qinghe were in the lineup.

There’s also a batch of fighters that may be unknown to casual fans but have a lot of potential like Gexipengchu, Emunanjia, Regezhen, Zeqiuduoji, Wan Fayang, and Hailai Wushamo.

One surprising returning fighter was UFC veteran Mahashate Hayishaer, who went 2-4 in the promotion, but is still just 26 years old.

Wang Cong will climb the flyweight rankings this upcoming week after a gritty win over Eduarda Moura.

Three rounds of battle resulted in a unanimous decision win for Wang, who took the scorecards 30-27, 29-28, and 29-28.

Both fighters missed weight, setting the fight at a 128lbs catchweight fight.

While a knockdown likely sealed the first round for Wang, a rallying ground attack locked in round three for Chinese flyweight.

With the win, Wang, who sits at number twelve in the flyweight rankings, takes out the number thirteen-ranked flyweight in Moura.

After the drama at UFC 325’s weigh-ins, a new matchup is set for the Road to UFC flyweight final: 🇲🇳Namsrai Batbayar (9-1) vs. 🇨🇳Yin Shuai (18-6).

The fight will take place in Macau between May 28-30th- it’s unknown if it will fall on the UFC Macau prelims or during the opening round of Road to UFC season 6.

The fight was first posted by , and MMA Ecosystem confirmed with multiple sources that the new fight is set.

Batbayar was scheduled to fight the other RTU flyweight finalist, Aaron Tau, last Saturday at UFC 325. When Tau came in three pounds overweight, the UFC pulled the fight.

Rather than reschedule the fight, the UFC has instead chosen to give the fight to Yin Shuai, who dropped a decision to Tau at the semifinals in August. Before that, Yin finished Kai Yoshida by TKO in the first round.

Season four of Road to UFC appeared to be the first season of the show that would not send a Chinese fighter to the UFC. With Yin Shuai’s entrance, that’s once again a possibility.
