We all need connection and community more than we realize — especially right now.

There’s so much chaos, negativity, and divisiveness in the world that it can feel overwhelming. As leaders, we have to rise above the noise and resist the pull to play into it.

As a leadership coach, I hear this from clients every day, and I remind them often. But the truth is, sometimes coaches need the same reminder too.

The recent YWCA Inspire Luncheon was one of those reminders for me. I wasn’t feeling my best that day and had every intention of joining virtually from the comfort of home. No parking hassles. No small talk, No happy face or extra energy required. But the universe had other plans, and I’ve learned always to trust the universe and my gut.

Fast forward a few hours later. I found myself seated at an incredible table with the lovely Coghill and a host of phenomenal women sharing stories, laughter, and inspiration. I made new connections, reconnected with familiar faces (Lindsey TH Jackson, Amelia Ransom, Maria Chavez Wilcox, Bindiya Patel, Andrea Anderson, Katheryn Edwards), and left with my cup completely refilled — all because I showed up.

I was especially moved by Mock’s powerful story of advocacy and community and by the incredible YWCA King & Snohomish County team, whose unwavering commitment to women, families, and community continues to inspire.

The moral: It’s okay to not always be okay. But when you can, push yourself to shift the energy. Step away from the scroll. Turn on some music. Take a walk. Get outside. Reach out. Say yes to the invitation. You never know — you might be the light, kind word, positive vibe, or smile that someone else needs just as much as you do.

Community heals. Connection grounds us.
And sometimes, showing up, even when you don’t feel like it, is exactly what your spirit needs most. 🤎

✨ When was the last time you showed up for something that refilled your cup?

What an incredible evening celebrating International Day of the Girl during Girl Scout Night with the Seattle Sounders FC at Lumen Field! 💚⚽️

A heartfelt thank you to our gracious host Midori Hobbs and the amazing team at the RAVE Foundation (the charitable arm of Seattle Sounders FC and Seattle Reign FC) for your generosity, partnership, and commitment to empowering girls to dream big and lead boldly.

Special thanks as well to Wade Brewer at Girl Scouts of Western Washington, the dedicated staff, our sponsors, partners, fellow board members, and our phenomenal CEO Andrea Anderson. Your leadership and collaboration make moments like this possible and deeply meaningful.

As a proud Board Member of GSWW, I’m continually inspired by how we’re shaping the next generation of changemakers to lead with courage, confidence, and character… on and off the field.

I’m still inspired by our inaugural Girl Scout Trailblazers Ball!

What an unforgettable evening at Seattle’s Block 41, where we united for a powerful purpose: equipping girls* with the confidence, courage, character, and skills to thrive as leaders in today’s world.

Together, we rallied our community, amplified our mission, and raised critical funds to ensure every girl has access to life-changing experiences— programs that build leadership, entrepreneurship, sisterhood, outdoor exploration, STEM, wellness, advocacy, and economic independence.

This night was a testament to what’s possible when we come together to shape the next generation of innovators, leaders, and changemakers.

💚 Deep gratitude to the incredible committee, staff, sponsors, partners, board members, and especially our CEO Andrea Anderson, for leading with such passion, vision, and heart.

And a special thank you to everyone who joined me at Table #3 (and to those who gave in lieu of attending🙏🏾). Your generosity and presence were critical to the success of the evening and to advancing the mission of GSWW.

Here’s to lighting the way forward for the leaders of tomorrow!

"Before I recommended it to my client, I had to put it to the test myself…”

A few months ago, a client asked me to explore Hogan Assessments as part of a coaching solution designed to strengthen team effectiveness and drive organizational culture transformation. I believe in testing what I recommend, so I started by taking the assessment myself.

What I discovered was powerful.
Hogan didn’t just highlight my strengths, values, and motivations — it surfaced the subtle “derailers” (performance risks or blind spots) that can show up under stress and revealed where my self-perception aligns (or doesn’t) with how others experience me.

Even though I was already aware of many of my own risks factors, seeing them clearly reflected in the results confirmed for me why Hogan is such a well-respected, science-based leadership tool. That’s why I pursued Hogan certification and added it to Model Executive Consulting's suite of solutions, so I can bring this depth of insight to the leaders and organizations I serve.

With Hogan, leaders and teams can uncover:
* Strengths that fuel performance
* Values that shape motivation and culture
* Potential risk factors that, if left unchecked, can undermine success

Because leadership isn’t just about what you do; it’s about how you’re experienced. And when leaders truly know themselves, they can lead with purpose, authenticity, and impact.

Do you know your performance risks?

Let’s connect — drop a comment or send me a message. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Hello September! 🍂
September has always been one of my favorite months… not only because it’s my mom and her twin sister’s (my Aunt Jane’s) birthday month, but also because summer comes to an end, kids are back to school, and routines reset.

It represents so much more than just turning a page on the calendar.

It’s a reset.
A chance to refocus, reconnect, and re-energize for the final stretch of the year.

For leaders, it’s the moment to set the tone, inspire momentum, and create space for growth.

Here’s to lighting the way forward and finishing strong. Let’s GO! ✨💫

Your leadership is your legacy.
The way you lead today shapes how you’ll be remembered tomorrow by your team, your peers, and your industry.

At Model Executive, we believe that leadership is personal, purposeful, and powerful. It’s about showing up with clarity, owning your voice, and creating space for others to thrive, especially women navigating leadership in complex environments.

I coach leaders not just to reach goals, but to exceed them with intention, insight, and impact.

Lead boldly. Empower others. Build your legacy.

Let’s work together to transform how you lead and how you live.

What an incredible weekend! 💚

I had the absolute joy of serving as the Storms Activity Facilitator at the Cover Your Bases: Prepare and Prevent event, hosted by Girl Scouts of Western Washington, in partnership with PEMCO Insurance and the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

From crank-a-thons with kinetic energy flashlights to building storm kits and chatting about emergency preparedness, it was inspiring to see these young leaders step up with courage and curiosity.

As a proud Board Member of Girl Scouts of Western Washington, I’m reminded why our mission matters: equipping girls with real-world skills to lead with confidence, courage, and readiness.

Grateful to every volunteer, partner, and family who made this event impactful and fun!

**Empowering Connections: Women, Networks, and Accelerators**
Armoire, Seattle, WA

Recently, I had the esteemed opportunity to participate in the Empowering Connections event, graciously organized by US Bank at the magnificent 30,000 square foot Armoire venue. I returned with a revitalized sense of inspiration, enhanced knowledge, and renewed motivation.

This gathering exemplified the significant outcomes that emerge when women actively engage, exchange their experiences, and support one another on their respective journeys. The event was enriched with resources aimed at small businesses and accelerator programs, including Urban Impact, UW Foster School, Ventures, and Business Impact NW, thereby creating an atmosphere ripe with collaboration and opportunity.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ambika Singh, founder of Armoire, for her candid and motivating account of her entrepreneurial path. Her perspectives emphasized the essential role that community and accelerator programs play in cultivating vision, particularly for women entrepreneurs.

Such environments not only expand your professional network but also enhance your mindset, boost self-confidence, inspire collaborative initiatives, and contribute to lasting impact.

May this serve as a call to action for you to:
- Pursue your community
- Immerse yourself in spaces where you are valued
- Kindled passion — for yourself and for others
