Nutritional Therapy Practitioner

Josie has been practicing as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner since 2003.

Her journey to this career was started with the intention to help those around her with workable solutions, and it continues for the same purpose. As a mom, Josie began searching for help for her children within the medical field. Her son ended up seeing many specialists, the family was spending gobs of money and they were not getting very far. There were many ideas, but none of them were applicab

General information

Frequently Asked Questions What can I expect at my first visit? The first visit lasts about an hour and a half. There is twenty minutes of paperwork then we hook you up to a computer for ten minutes. The computer measures the health of your overall fitness and physiological age of your body. We will then discuss your health history, your main concerns and your goals. From there, the Practitioner will analyze your organs and body through Nutrition Response Testing™. The fee for the first visit includes the Report of Findings which occurs on the second visit. If the Practitioner determines that she can help you, then you will get a positive Report Of Findings and supplement/herbal recommendations on the second visit. How long will it take to handle my health? Most people need about six months to one and a half years to fully regain their health. We will “Fine-Tune” this program for an average of 6 visits once per week. You then graduate to a “Healing and Observation Period,” when you meet two criteria; you start to feel better and your organs are stable and improving clinically. The Healing and Observation Period visits are every other week. Your body changes as you heal and your program must be monitored and changed accordingly. We have a discounted price for people who pre-pay for their visits. In the middle and at the end of this four month cycle, we will redo the computer test and symptom survey. We will get a good idea what your rate of improvement is and how much longer you need for 100% improvement. How does the nutrition heal my body? The Nutritional component of healing consists of the basic diet and supplementation of that diet. Nutritional recommendations vary from person to person. It may take a few weeks to discover what your body likes the best. When we figure out what’s best for you, you will feel better, your weight will normalize, and you will function better. If you have been ill for a long time, give adequate time to recover and achieve health. For example, if you have been ill for twenty years, it may take six months to two years to recover. There is a real difference between what it takes to heal and just covering up symptoms with drugs. SUCCESS STORIES "Turns out my bowels needed help." Turns out my bowels needed help. I used to poo only once a week - that was "normal" for me. Yah, I had an upity bowel, who knew? Now I poop like a champ and my skin is clearer too. It is easier to be happy and be a nicer person when I poo every day. - D.D. "I first started to notice problems in 2002 when I was hiking on Mount Adams." I first started to notice problems in 2002 when I was hiking on Mount Adams. I could not climb uphill on the Pacific Crest Trail, although I did not have heart-lung stress, this was a new experience for me a serious hiker-wilderness camper. This progressed to inflamed muscls and connective tissue over the next couple of years. This seriously restricted my ability to enjoy outdoor activities (long distance, wilderness hiking and camping). Working with Josie we identified the major factors in my inflammation problem, they are gluten and sugar. I have cut gluten out of my diet and am reducing sugar intake. She also educated me to understand the musle inflammation that I feel may only be the tip of the iceberg for inflammation in even more critical areas of my body. She also identified that I have been living off my adrenal glands most of my life, and I could get away with it when I was younger (not eating regularly) and often eating carbohydrates for energy. I now eat regularly, keeping substantial food (protein, fats and complex carbohydrates) readily available when I work. This combined with nutritional supplements (lots of enzymes) and the stretching exercises (with topical enzymes) that she has recommended, has reduced my inflammation and increased my range of motion to the point where I plan to do some conditioning hiking (to rebuild my cardiovascular capacity) this summer and fall. - C.S. "THANK YOU JOSIE and Able Body Nutrition!! I am amazed at the difference I feel in just a few days!" THANK YOU JOSIE and Able Body Nutrition!! I am amazed at the difference I feel in just a few days! My stomach and GI tract used to be unhappy and grumbly all the time and in just a couple days almost all of it stopped! And in a week I am feeling better than I have in...I don't even know how long! I had gotten to the point of just believing this was the way that I was going to be. All the doctors told me I needed to do extensive food journaling and it was going to be an extremely long process of eliminating foods, and seriously one hour with you and three days later I feel great! My stomach is happy and I am pooping normally again (only you would be so proud of normal pooping schedules). But again, thanks a million, I mean all of that from the bottom of my heart, thank you Josie! - G.A. "I had a number of health issues and questions, but very few answers." I became acquainted with Josie Steuart and Able Body Nutrition a couple years ago, when I had a number of health issues and questions, but very few answers. Through a systematic and thorough evaluation, she was able to provide me with natural and food-based supplements to support all of the systems in my body, and to bolster those which needed additional help. Over time, I've been able to digest food better, increase the quality of my sleep, lower my thyroid medication, and increase my stamina and energy! Josie listens to her clients and leaves no stone unturned in the quest for optimal health. My entire family has benefitted from her knowledge and experience. Highly recommended! - D.L.
