A huge shoutout and thank you to our former video production intern Ian Portmann for doing a story on the Highline Bears for the Washington State Wire. In Ian's interview with co-owner & GM Justin Moser he explains how we have gotten through the pandemic and our plans for 2022.

Our team members are working daily behind the scenes to make sure the 2022 season is unlike anything you've ever experienced!

The White Center Teen Program is the heart of our community. The work they do everyday is simply incredible. The WC Teen Program works out of the Log Cabin next to our stadium.

For decades they have been providing members of our community a safe place to have fun, study, get jobs and have something to eat. Throughout Covid they delivered meals, school supplies and fun arts & crafts for students who were unable to access The Cabin.

A huge shoutout and thank you for all that they do!!

We want to wish the man behind the mic, the voice of Mel Olson Stadium, Bill Wyllys a very happy birthday!

Bill responded to a craigslist ad in 2018 wanting to get back into the voice business. Bill had some broadcast experience but little PA experience. In just a short season Bill worked his tail off and learned everything he could about his craft.

Now just a few years later Bill is the voice for multiple high school basketball, baseball, volleyball, football, and gymnastic programs. He is also expanding his skills into professional voice over and character work.

Bill is a huge part of our success over the past few years, the hardest of workers and very dedicated.

Dear Fans,

It is with great sadness that we announce that our beloved mascot Buntly the Bears has announced that he will be retiring at the conclusion of this season.

Last month Buntly the Bear and his representatives notified us that he was considering retirement from being a baseball mascot. After quite a few long talks with him it was clear that he was ready to move on.

In a letter from Buntly he said that he’s looking forward to traveling and seeing other parts of the country but that the Pacific Northwest will always be his home. “The White Center and West Seattle community welcomed me with open arms, we celebrated, partied and had some great times on and off the baseball field. I will never forget all the memories and friends I have made here, they’re priceless to me."

Since Buntly came to us in May we’ve been brainstorming some ideas and will announce something soon. Buntly will always be part of the history of our team and he will never be forgotten. We’re hoping he comes back and visits frequently. The Highline Bears just won’t be the same without Buntly but we have some exciting ideas for all of you so keep an eye out for what's next!

We know everyone is eager to get out to the ballpark again and have a great time! We're already planning for 2022 and it's going to be worth the wait. Coming to a game will be unlike anything you've ever experienced at a baseball game!

The Highline Bears | Seattle Summer Collegiate Baseball: Employment / Internships or send a video explaining why you would be the best candidate for the positions. (we do not accept generic cover letters)

[04/09/21]   Dear Fans,

We are going to miss you this season…

After many lengthy back and forth meetings we have decided that we will not be hosting fans inside the ballpark this summer. Social distancing has to be a priority, and even with the potential prospect of moving into a Phase 4 sometime this summer, we have concerns.

One of the great things about Mel Olson Stadium is the intimate atmosphere, closeness you can have with the players, live action on the field and fun interaction in the stands. Under the Covid-19 safety protocol guidelines, all this is lost. This summer we will host local players who will play a limited home schedule and road games, but with no fans in attendance.

BUT WAIT, we’re already working on the 2022 season! The stadium will have improvements, more fan participation, more fun and surprises, an expanded food and drink menu, GREAT baseball and the best show you’ve ever experienced at a baseball game.

Don’t go away! We’re going to need your help. We’ll be reaching out soon for your ideas on how we can make the 2022 season something no one will ever forget!

All the best,
Highline Bears Baseball

With an extremely heavy heart we are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Kris Brannon (aka Sonics Guy). Kris was a great guy and was a true Seattle Sports icon. You would see Kris at nearly every sporting event you went to and his mission never changed "Bring Back Our Sonics!". We invited Kris to be part of our first ever Bring Back Our Sonics Night two years ago and he was a huge hit. He will be greatly missed by everyone in the Seattle sports community and never forgotten. Seattle sports fans will continue his legacy of pushing to "Bring Back Our Sonics." Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that former Bears’ manager Rich W. Lindros passed away in his sleep this Thursday.

Rich lead a life of service, mentorship, and coaching. In 2016 he became the Highline Bears manager. He lead the team to a 3rd place finish in the Kelowna Canada Day tournament and the Bears first win against the reigning PIL league champion Seattle Studs.

Rich was a proud veteran, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He shared his passion for baseball, sports psychology and the Brooklyn Dodgers with anyone who wanted to take the time to chat. He spent the past 30+ years coaching athletes on the mental game. He lead numerous mental game clinics, and one on one sessions throughout the years. He helped give players and coaches the confidence they needed on and off the field by managing their outlook on life and baseball.

Rich touched the lives of so many, he will be greatly missed by his family, friends, coaches and players, where his impact will be everlasting.

Hi Bears Fans,

This past week our local business community has been vandalized multiple times with windows being busted. This has affected our friends at Southgate Roller Rink Full Tilt Ice Cream, Bizzarro Italian Cafe, and Rat City Tattoos to name a few.

This has been a tough year for everyone, especially our small business community.

If you're able we please ask that you take a trip to White Center and patronize our local businesses, leave a positive review on Facebook, Google, or yelp, share a photo of a meal on instagram ,and share your great experience with your friends encouraging them to make it to DubSea.

If we don't support them now, they may not be here later.
