The memorial ride will follow a casual, five-mile loop including the Alki Beach Path and the Alki Point Safe and Healthy Street. The route is family-friendly, though it does include a mile-long steady grade up Admiral Way from Alki Point. We will maintain a group pace as we ride together in solidarity.

Sad morning for the bike shop and our neighbors. Early morning someone in a mental health crisis decided to take a couple bricks to our windows. Seems to be a yearly occurrence at this point. We will be closed today for Thanksgiving & to clean up but plan on being back open tomorrow. If you were planning on getting some Christmas presents or something for yourself this holiday season, please consider supporting us. Us small businesses already have such a hard time when the slow season hits, this just set us back even more. Big shout out to the SPD and SFD for your quick action and help with clean up. Hi neighbors! Alki Bike and Board is doing a holiday drive for West Side Baby. We are accepting donations during open hours at the shop 2606 California Ave SW (12-6 Tuesday-Thursday, 10-6 Friday & Saturday).

They accept open diapers and lightly used items. I’ll attach a flyer of what they most need and also a flyer of what they accept. Please consider donating, our community needs us more than ever right now. THANK YOU and Happy Holidays.

We were able to get out on some new bike lanes the other day! For more information on routes, check out the SDOT bike map online.

This last summer, 2025 was dubbed “Hot Bike Summer” as many miles of protected bike lane development was completed.

The Beacon Ave. Bike Lane from the Jorge Rizal bridge in the International district was recently opened. In the image looking back behind Stu toward Beacon Hill center. The George Town to South Park separated bike path runs down So. Ellis Street to E Marginal and continues on a protected bike lane and separated path to 16th Ave. S. that connected with the 14th Ave. Bridge to South Park.

Probably the best part about this is the near completion of the E Marginal bikeway into downtown- which is already rideable. Yep, that means more sitting in traffic on the West Seattle Bridge! 🥳
