Drove to Port Townsend the wooden boat capital of the west coast to meet Brion Toss. He's a yacht rigger, we talked about my mast and rigging and what I need to do to re rig it. More work in the next month while I'm fixing the million other things. But it has to be done to insure I have a stout rig. Had a great time and learned a lot. Thanks Brion.

I'm back in Seattle after working on the University of Hawaii's research vessel. In June we were 20 miles off the Japanese power plants, and I finally stopped glowing two weeks ago. Then spent a month dredging mud samples and mapping the bottom of the ocean half way between Hawaii and Mexico looking for Manganese nodules 16,000ft to the bottom. When I left they were getting their two three man subs ready. I'll be heading to the east coast to start work on the boat (rebuild the engine, fix the steering, and lots more).

He will help me get permission to complete my voyage.

It is now clear that the “Northern Passage” was also the first boat to sail through both the Northeast and Northwest Passag

Wow It's been a while, I'm back in Seattle for the next couple of months. I will be looking for work and getting sponsors. The expeditions goal is still the same but; I will be attempting to sail through both the Northeast and Northwest passages in one summer. The boat is in need of a lot of TLC, as three winters in the arctic have taken their toll. I will be up dating the blog more now that I have internet.
