There may never be a perfect time. There is only now.
Yoga School Collaborative is a 200-hour teacher training designed for anyone ready to break through the surface — whether you want to teach or simply understand yoga in a whole new way.
Kai is co-leading this training alongside Sarah Goble from SOL Yoga. Together, they’re bringing over 40 years of combined experience to guide you through an exploration of yoga that’s rooted in self-inquiry, community, and authenticity.

I taught the first ever class at Maven Yoga 8 years ago on October 8th, 2017. Before stepping in to teach I remember being overwhelmed by all the students who showed up to pack the studio and cheer on this dream of mine. I have learned so much about myself, business, trusting the process, and the real impact yoga has on the people who are lucky enough to find it.
I am incredibly grateful to all the teachers past and present who have shared their teaching and given Maven a voice.
I am thankful to every student who has rolled out a yoga mat just once and especially thankful to those who consider Maven their yoga home and have given Maven a heartbeat. Thank you for your trust.
I have immense gratitude for the obstacles and challenges we’ve faced over these 8 years that make the wins, the joy, and this very moment of standing strong that much sweeter.
There’s absolutely no place else I’d rather be.
Happy birthday Maven Yoga! 🎉✨💙-Kai

Have you tried our new yin yoga class yet? It's tonight!
What is yin yoga? Yin yoga is a beautiful complement to a more vigorous vinyasa practice. Poses primarily target the lower body (hips, pelvis, spine), and are held for 3-5 minutes to help release the deep, connective tissue (fascia) that can become dense and inflexible. As a result, yin yoga promotes mobility, healing, and mindful relaxation. It is suitable for students at all levels. Here at Maven, this practice is at a lower heat (85-88 degrees) than more active classes. Join us on Thursdays with at 7:30pm.

Relax - it's just yoga.
·
We've heard it all before: "I'm not strong enough yet" or "I'm not flexible enough to do yoga." You don't need to be anything other than exactly as you are to start your yoga practice. It can be easy to get in your own head and find all the reasons to not try something new that you might love for the rest of your life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just start where you are. Do what you can. Relax - it's just yoga.

To our first time, new friends who haven't yet been to Maven. Starting something new can be intimidating. It's a lot of pressure to show up and after an hour feel like magic! It can takes a few classes to finally settle into YOUR practice and feel like you've struck the right chords. That's why we have some intro specials so you can test the waters and try out our classes/teachers more than once. Check them out through the link in our bio.

Other helpful tips:
✨ Showing up is enough
✨ It's okay to adjust/customize
✨ Try out different teachers and class types to see what fits you best: Power Flow, Slow Flow, Vin + Yin
✨ It's always about how it feels, not how it looks
✨We can't wait to meet you!

Dear Maven Community - The last few years have been unprecedented and challenging for all of us. Small businesses suffered through a roller coaster of unpredictable obstacles and risk. Many shuttered their doors. Maven has not only survived, but thrives again because of you. Your unwavering support through these uncertain times is beyond heartening and words fail to express my gratitude to each and every one of you.
These strange and terrible times have also been the most beautiful of my life. Last July, my husband and I welcomed our second baby girl. Despite being born into and raised in odd circumstances, our daughters are none the wiser and are flourishing. They fill our lives with joy and love.
Navigating these years as a small business owner with a baby (now toddler), through a pregnancy, and now as a mother of two, has also been incredibly difficult to say the least. As such, it is with a heavy heart that I am taking a step back from Maven to be a full-time mom. It is not just the best option for my family, but the only option.
I have known many of you through yoga for years, some a decade. I cherish our conversations at the front desk, the energy you bring to the classes, and our friendship. Seeing you all walk into the studio, chatting with you, and teaching yoga has truly been the most precious gift. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We have worked behind the scenes to transfer full ownership to Kai. This process will be official on July 1st. I plan to sub whenever possible and as my girls grow, start school, and eventually need me less, I look forward to teaching regularly again. For now, Maven will continue on its path of thriving in Kai’s passionate and capable hands, and with the support of our amazing instructors, for many, many years to come.
Thank you all for being a part of Maven’s community. This is not “good-bye,” just a “see you soon.”
Peace & Love to you all.
-Alison
