🎉 We Did It! Cougar Mountain Stables has been approved to receive Facebook Stars! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who follows, likes, comments, shares, and supports what we do. Your encouragement has helped us grow from a small dream into a place where kids, families, horses, and farm animals come together to create amazing memories.

Facebook Stars are a way for followers to support creators during videos, reels, and live streams. The Stars we receive will go directly back into our programs, helping us care for our horses and animals, improve our facilities, expand educational opportunities, and continue creating fun experiences for our students and community.

Whether you've taken a lesson, attended camp, come on a trail ride, volunteered, or simply followed our journey online, thank you for being part of Cougar Mountain Stables. We appreciate every one of you and are excited to continue sharing our horses, rescues, and adventures with you all.

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one horse and one child at a time.

⭐ If you see Stars available on our videos, now you'll know what they are!

We often get asked if people can simply rent a horse because they have "a lot of experience."

The truth is, our horses are not machines, amusement rides, or something you simply climb on, kick, and steer around.

Many of our horses have come from difficult situations. Some arrived neglected, fearful, in pain, or one step away from slaughter. Some needed physical rehabilitation. Others needed emotional rehabilitation. Many had to learn that people could be trusted again.

Because of that, we teach much more than riding.

We teach rhythm, feel, balance, timing, confidence, connection, and communication. We teach people how to listen to a horse, not just control one. We teach students how to recognize what a horse is feeling and how to become a better partner for them.

I am a third-generation horsewoman, and after a lifetime around horses, I can honestly say I learn something new every day. I would never claim to know everything. What I do have is a solid foundation built through years of experience, countless horses, amazing mentors, and a commitment to continue learning.

What brings me the most joy is sharing that knowledge with others.

I've watched horses that were once fearful, hurting, and unwanted become trusted partners and beloved lesson horses. I've watched children gain confidence, adults overcome fears, and families discover a connection with horses they never expected.

That's what this place is about.

Not just riding horses.

Building relationships with them.

And sometimes, helping both horses and people heal along the way.

At Cougar Mountain Stables, we aren't just teaching people how to ride horses. We're teaching people how to understand them.

Every horse in this photo has a story.

Pepper, the gray horse, was featured on King 5 News after being abandoned during a divorce case. When he arrived, he wasn't an easy horse to handle, and it took nearly two years of patience, training, and trust-building before he became a safe riding horse. Today, he's one of our students' and campers' favorites.

Snow White, the white horse, came to us with a broken leg.

Chex, the brown and white horse, arrived with sore feet and has made incredible progress.

Chance, the red roan on the far right, was purchased from an auction carrying both physical and emotional scars. He had a large hole in his head from an old injury, and he was terrified of people. We believe someone hurt him badly before he came to us. While he's still learning to trust, he has come farther than we ever imagined.

When people visit Cougar Mountain Stables, they often see horses teaching lessons, carrying children, and making memories. What they don't always see is the journey that brought many of these horses here.

These horses weren't discarded. They were given a second chance.

Today they spend their days grazing with friends, teaching young riders, building confidence, and reminding us that healing takes time, patience, and kindness.

This group is incredibly special to us, and we're grateful every day to be part of their stories.

Princess Meatball. 👑❤️

One of the sweetest little ponies you'll ever meet. She loves attention, treats, and making everyone smile. It's impossible to have a bad day when this little face is around.

Yesterday's little preview!

6:00 AM to 11:00 PM and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Today was filled with horses, lessons, students, trail rides, training, and plenty of time simply observing. Every horse is different. Some are brave, some are cautious, some are naturally talented, and some need a little extra confidence. I love figuring out what makes each horse tick—their strengths, weaknesses, personality, and hidden talents.

The same goes for our riders. Watching students grow, overcome challenges, and build confidence never gets old.

The days are long, but I genuinely enjoy every moment of it. I feel incredibly lucky to spend my life doing something I love alongside some amazing horses and people.
