On Tuesday June 30th between 1555 hrs and 1700 hrs the Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department responded to 5 different calls for wires and trees down. We also had 1 call for a motor vehicle crash at Kingdom Rd and County House Rd. We want to remind all town residents that power lines that are down within trees can still be energized and pose a risk to you and others. Please avoid the area and let NYSEG Electric make the situation safe again. Fire Department personnel are tasked with making sure the scene is safe and people are not in the danger zone. Please respect our personnel as they are there to keep you safe.

We'd also like to thank 361 and 1661 who were at the scene of the crash assisting with traffic control. We appreciate your assistance.

It's important to have a conversation as a family to discuss what to do when there is a fire. Always make sure that you have at least two ways to escape during a house fire and practice when you can.

At the 25 minute benchmark command placed the fire under control and started returning mutual aid departments. Remember to charge your devices on hard, flat surfaces that are at least three feet away from your bed or other soft surfaces you may be sleeping on.
