Northview/Kodak Fire Department Cadets

Today, members of the Northview Fire Cadet Program were on scene at a working structure fire in Kodak, where they assisted the Northview Auxiliary with firefighter rehabilitation efforts. Following fire suppression operations, the cadets also helped with overhaul, cleanup, and preparing apparatus to return to service.

The incident provided another valuable hands-on learning opportunity for our cadets, allowing them to observe and participate in many aspects of the fireground while gaining important knowledge and experience in the fire service.

Northview Fire Department was assisted on the incident by Dandridge Fire Department, Sevier County Fire & Rescue, Sevier County Fire Marshal's Office, Sevier County Sheriff's Department, and the Sevier County Rescue Squad.

A special thank you goes to the Northview Auxiliary, Dandridge Fire Department, and the Sevier County Rescue Squad for their assistance with firefighter rehabilitation. With temperatures in the 90s and a heat index exceeding 105°F, ensuring firefighters remained hydrated and monitored during operations was critical.

Northview Kodak Fire Department is an EOE

The Northview Kodak Fire cadets received a donation of "new" retired gear. Over 30 sets of matching gear, helmets, nomex, and gloves were donated. A VERY SPECIAL thanks to Matt Lovitt and Fire Chief Matt Seals and the Springdale VFD. Its thru donations like this that the Cadet Program is able to thrive!

Due to a scheduling conflict the cadets are set up at our station doing their fundraiser car wash today! The Auxiliary has their bake sale tent up as well! Stop by and support your Kodak Fire Cadets! We are set up now and will be here till 1 PM. 3650 Douglass Dam Rd!

Reminder tomorrow is our Cadets Car Wash. From 8-1 at Advanced Auto. Come see the kids and get your car washed. The Ladies Aux will also have a table set up doing a bake sale!

The Cadets participated in a great training this week. Learning about tanker shuttle, pumping, drafting. And hydrant use. Assisting was members of the ladies auxiliary and members of the NKFD Volunteers.

The Northview Fire Department was dispatched to a working structure fire yesterday on Hardin Road. Firefighters from Northview, Sevier County Fire & Rescue, Dandridge, and the Knoxville City Fire Department responded to the scene.

In addition to the responding departments, members of the NKFD Cadet Program and Auxiliary also mobilized in support. While the cadets were not engaged in active fire suppression, they played a critical support role by assisting the Auxiliary with rehabilitation efforts and other non-firefighting tasks. Their contributions included changing air bottles, assisting with cleanup, retrieving tools, and supporting various operational needs on scene.

This incident also served as a valuable learning experience for the cadets, providing them with the opportunity to observe firsthand how structure fires are managed and how coordinated response efforts are executed. Experiences like this continue to build their understanding and help develop the skills necessary to become future firefighters.

The cadets had the opportunity to go to Sevierville Fire Dept and get some hands on training with SFD Ladder Company. Captain Ray taught them all about ladder trucks and what a ladder company dose. A big thanks to SFD for allowing them to come train. Also thanks to NKFD Auxiliary for helping.
