Northview/Kodak Fire Department Cadets

The Northview Fire Department was dispatched to a working structure fire yesterday on Hardin Road. Firefighters from Northview, Sevier County Fire & Rescue, Dandridge, and the Knoxville City Fire Department responded to the scene.

In addition to the responding departments, members of the NKFD Cadet Program and Auxiliary also mobilized in support. While the cadets were not engaged in active fire suppression, they played a critical support role by assisting the Auxiliary with rehabilitation efforts and other non-firefighting tasks. Their contributions included changing air bottles, assisting with cleanup, retrieving tools, and supporting various operational needs on scene.

This incident also served as a valuable learning experience for the cadets, providing them with the opportunity to observe firsthand how structure fires are managed and how coordinated response efforts are executed. Experiences like this continue to build their understanding and help develop the skills necessary to become future firefighters.

The cadets had the opportunity to go to Sevierville Fire Dept and get some hands on training with SFD Ladder Company. Captain Ray taught them all about ladder trucks and what a ladder company dose. A big thanks to SFD for allowing them to come train. Also thanks to NKFD Auxiliary for helping.

The NKFD Auxiliary is set up at Douglas Dam near Lakeway Market, Kodak Trade Center, and at Bent Rd. They are doing a boot Drive for donations. Also At our station near Kodak Trade Center there is a bake sale tent and shirts for sale! Stop by and support your local Fire Dept Auxiliary.

The Kodak Fire Cadets are set up to wash cars. Free will donation at Advanced Auto in Kodak. Also the NKFD Auxiliary is set up selling shirts and Baked Goods! STOP BY AND SEE US!!!!

The cadets participated in a CPR certification training with members of the NKFD Auxiliary last night. Learning valuable skills like how to do CPR furthers their careers. This group of youth members strives to learn all they can at every opportunity!

The Cadets were able to sit in on training tonight with the Paid staff and members of NKFD Auxiliary to a presentation by the Sevier Co Office of Alcohol and Drugs learning about Narcan and Drug overdoses. Thanks to Jessica for coming and conducting such a great training.

Northview kodak fire and Northview kodak cadets did some extrication training today, training with real life scenarios keeps us sharp.
