We use them to help some of our students with sensory overload, ASD or other things feel the properties of the water while working on motor planning and other skills that lead to progression out of the lifejacket. 💦

The sun came out just in time for us to have a great event with the City of Sherman Parks & Recreation for families in our community who have children with Autism, Down Syndrome and other special needs. It was encouraging to have colleagues from other swim schools in Texas, community leaders and lifeguards volunteer to learn and serve with us.

Sherman adaptive water safety event teaches families with special needs children Sherman held its second annual Adaptive Water Safety Day on Sunday, offering specialized swim instruction to families with children who have autism, ADHD, anxiety and other specialized needs.
