The event will be held August 12-15, 2021 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado at the Highlands Ranch Recreation Center-Northridge. Make sure you enter online and reserve your hotel and of course, book your travel. ✈️

Arizona State Championships Players Email March 14-15, 2020

Hey Racquetballers,

Start times are up and are final. We managed to accommodate everybody’s time conflicts and have no room to move matches.

We have a lot of matches scheduled and an awesome venue to relax in. However, the courts will be packed all day! Please be on time and ready to play at your scheduled match time. Unfortunately participants not present will have to be forfeited as we are on a tight schedule. We will do our best to keep matches running on time and we will let you know if we are running ahead or behind. A small reminder in a packed tournament sometimes you are scheduled to play back to back.
Share Coronas; not the Coronavirus
We are keeping a close eye on the virus and plan on still running the event, The event is still on. Just some friendly reminders stay home if you are sick, we have a flexible refund policy. Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. We will be trying our best to wipe down frequently touched objects doorknobs, court doors, tournament desks, clipboards etc. If anyone notices someone not feeling well, speak up we may have to ask them to leave. With your help, we can run a safe and healthy event!
Check-In
Check-in begins at 9:00 A.M. Saturday. Please check in early and allow for time to check-in and pay if you have not done so already, we accept cash, card, and check! When you arrive at the club, just tell the front desk that you are here for the tournament and they will point you in the right direction. There are showers at the club, but we do not provide towels. If you want to shower, bring a towel and soap. Instead of a tournament shirt this year we will be donating funds to help the GCU racquetball team as they join the Arizona collegiate conference.
Food and Drink
Meal buck coupons will be provided at check-in to be used at the onsite restaurant and will be able to be used on anything the restaurant offers. Feel free to visit the restaurant whenever you have availability. Additionally, Gatorade will be provided as well as some light snacks by the check-in desk. Saturday evening we plan on ordering a couple of appetizers, pizzas and a few pitchers of beer to celebrate racquetball, bringing in our new board members, and another year of health and happiness.

Bonus meal bucks can be earned for reffing, volunteering, and helping out.
Reffing
All non-consolation matches will have a ref. At this event, losers are required to ref a match, this helps to keep the event flowing and encourages a high level of play. If you feel your ref is not qualified for the match please see the tournament desk to get a new ref. RPAA Board members and volunteer refs will fill in where needed due to a hectic schedule. Refs are also empowered to issue technicals and follow the rules closely. A tournament director can be called over at any time there is any serious disagreements.
Rules
A short warm-up time of 5 minutes will be allowed for each person/team, and then the ref will start the match. Timeouts are 30 seconds long and will be strictly enforced. 2 Minutes in between matches and 5 minutes before a tie-breaker.

We encourage fair play and good sportsmanship. Fighting, arguing with players or refs, and foul language will not be tolerated. Consider this your only warning. You will be forfeited without a refund and asked to leave.
Consolation
All consolation matches will be self reffed. If you are planning on skipping your third place or consolation matches please let the tournament desk know so we can forfeit the match right away. This shows respect for your opponents who won't have to show up if you don't plan to. Everyone on the event gets to play at least two matches in each event they entered!
