Northern Plains Cecchetti Council

Our regional Northern Plains Cecchetti Council committee held our annual CCA Liaison weekend exams and Cecchetti workshop and held our annual meeting all at our host studio Dance Gallery of South Dakota. Thanks to Jackie Kriens and Arthur Kriens.

Exams were held Thursday-Sunday, March 20-23, 2025 with our Liaison Peggy Wright, from Michigan who is a permanent examiner for the Cecchetti Council of America.

Peggy Wright also taught three upper professional level Cecchetti classes on Saturday, March 29th in the afternoon and Sunday, March 30th in the morning.
On Saturday afternoon:
⚫️ Grade 5 (Elementary V) 12:30 to 2:30 PM
⚫️ Grade 6 (Intermediate VI) 2:45 to 5:00 PM
On Sunday morning:
⚫️ Grade 7 (Advanced VII) 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Our regional Cecchetti committee called the Northern Plains CCA is hosting a Cecchetti workshop. Our mentor (Peggy Wright) for the Cecchetti Council of America will be here from Michigan next weekend.
She is teaching the upper level Cecchetti classes on Saturday, March 29th in the afternoon and Sunday, March 30th in the morning. Each class is 2 hours (or more)! These classes are $30 each or $65 if you want to take everything! Here is the schedule...

SATURDAY, MARCH 29TH SCHEDULE
12:30 to 2:30 PM - Grade 5 (Elementary V) - $30
2:45 to 5:00 PM - Grade 6 (Intermediate VI) - $30

SUNDAY, MARCH 30TH SCHEDULE
9:30 AM to 12:00 PM - Grade 7 (Advanced VII) - $30

Congratulations to ARCC student Zoey Merkel! Zoey studies at the Aberdeen Recreation Cultural Center under Robin O’Neill, Jennifer Ring and Ashton Dennert, and is preparing for her Grade III exam this spring. She has been accepted to the Royal Ballet School for their spring intensive in April. We are so proud!!!

Congratulations Becca Brusven on being the runner-up for the prestigious Cyril Beaumont Award in the UK! Keep up the hard work!

Becca was part of Team CCA representing the Cecchetti Council of America as part of the Cecchetti International Classical Competition (CICB) this past summer earning an international scholarship. After accepting the scholarship and moving to the UK in September, Becca has achieved runner-up for the prestigious Cyril Beaumont Award in the UK and is proudly representing the Kate Simmons School.

What an incredible journey and recognition for Becca’s talent and hard work! Bravo 👏🏻
