📵 Pool Time = No Phone Zone! 🏊♀️🌞
When it comes to water safety, distractions can wait. Keep your phone close for emergencies but keep your eyes on the pool, not the screen. 👀💦
✨ Send this to your partner, family, or any fellow swim watchers as a friendly reminder: Stay present. Stay alert.

Picture an unseasonably cold morning at an outdoor city pool, with a sobbing six-year-old clinging to her mom's lap, refusing to step anywhere near the water. For local mom Megan, that early memory felt like a total setback for her daughter's water confidence.
Fast forward to joining us at SafeSplash, where everything clicked.
Trading chilly outdoor wind for a warm indoor pool made an immediate difference. Her daughters took lessons side-by-side, guided by patient instructors in tiny class sizes. Instead of watching from far away behind a fence, Megan sat just feet away in our warm viewing area, giving her girls the comfort of knowing mom was right there.
The real transformation came from sticking with it every week. Pretty soon, those tears turned into asking how many days until swim class. Before long, her six-year-old was holding her breath underwater for 30 seconds and calling grandma to brag about her brand-new progress ribbon. Family pool trips went from “Mom, hold onto me” to “Mom, watch this.”
Confidence is not built overnight, and it does not happen in a rushed two-week summer sprint. It happens when water safety becomes a fun, consistent part of your routine all year long. Because guiding your child from fearful tears to proud smiles is what we do, progress is our promise.

Not all life jackets are created equal. 🦺
Walk into any big box store and you'll find shelves full of colorful flotation vests marketed for kids. Cute designs, low prices, easy to grab and toss in the cart. But many of those products have never been tested or approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.
A USCG-approved life jacket has been rigorously tested to meet accepted safety standards. An unapproved flotation device has not. That difference matters enormously in an emergency. What to look for when you check yours:
🔍 The label should clearly state "U.S. Coast Guard Approved"
⚖️ Size by weight, not age
🔒 Straps should buckle snugly, lift from the shoulders and it shouldn't rise past the chin
If yours doesn't have that approval label, it's time to replace it. USCG-approved life jackets for kids are widely available at Dick's Sporting Goods, West Marine, and Amazon and most start around $25.
And remember: a life jacket is a layer of protection, not a substitute for knowing how to swim.
